Greyhounds
Greyhounds are tall, four leged mammals. They are also called a canine because that is their
scientific name. These animals can be kept as pets. These canines are used for racing.
Appearance
A key feature of a greyhound is their height because they
have extremely long legs. They have large hearts for racing
with long ears which fold back to make them go much
faster as they become streamlined. The male greyhound
has an average height of up to 76cm and can weigh up to
40 kilograms. Also female greyhounds can grow up to
71cm and weigh up to 34 kilograms. These canines have
short fur to further make their body smooth and
streamlined. Furthermore they have a dew claw which
means the dog has five toes, with the fifth claw being the
dew claw on its leg.
