worksurfaces, a 15/20mm thick slab has a groove cut into
the underside and the edge is folded down to create the

Granite is a natural substance and no two pieces of

minerals and the deposit it was quarried from, all play a
part in the appearance of granite.
Granite is a coarse grained, crystalline igneous rock
primarily composed of Quartz and Feldspar. It forms
from slowly cooling magma that is subjected to extreme
pressures deep beneath the earthʼs surface.

Quicktops® Granite is an ideal material for kitchen worksurfaces
with its naturally beautiful and diverse patterns.
Quicktops® Granite is available in standard worktops blanks or
with sink cutouts/drainer grooves, breakfast bars, island units,
co-ordinating upstands and window cills are also available.
Technical Information
• Quicktops® worktops can expand as much as 1mm/mtr, so always
allow a gap of at least 3mm if for example, worktops are captive
between two walls
• Overhangs over 300mm need support
• Spans greater than 600mm should be supported
• Allow 50mm min. from the cutout to the front edge, 50mm from the
back edge and 120mm between two hob cutouts
• Splash backs and Upstands over 100mm high must have a
minimum gap at the rear of the hob to the face of:
Electric 50mm, Gas 150mm
• Plastering or tiling should be completed after installation
• Hob flange needs to sit on aluminium thermal insulation tape
around the cut-out, to avoid conducting too much heat and causing
cracks in the worktop
• If you have heat-producing appliances, such as a dishwasher,
washer or cooker beneath your worktop, you must place a
aluminum foil membrane on the underside of the countertop.
Aluminum foil deflects heat and moisture; preventing damage to
the worktop and sub frame
• Quicktops® Granite does require sealing every 6 months* as do
all natural granite worktops and, being a porous material, will
absorb any spillage and is likely to stain unless wiped away
immediately (more frequently than 6 months in high traffic areas)

different levels of pigmentation and/or particle distribution. This
may lead to variation in the aesthetic appearance of the

• Plain colours are prone to contamination (e.g. light colours
show small dark spots while darker colours may appear patchy
with lighter spots) and occasional contrasting coloured stone
chips can be expected in material of natural origin; these are
not defects in the material.

• Where mirror reflectors form part of the matrix of the worktop
their distribution and orientation will be random; it is not possible
for all mirrored flecks to be facing the surface; where surface
mirror flecks become detached these may sometimes be
repaired using a resin filler.
• Engineered stone is vibrated to remove any air trapped during
manufacture and it is common to find very small air holes in the
surface of all colours, these are inherent in the
manufacturing process of engineered stone and are not
considered as defects.
This process is industry standard and does not affect your
warranty. We endeavour to produce your worktops without voids
or airholes, inevitably this is not always practical or possible.
