 2 Post-­‐doctoral positions -­‐ UHF 7T Human brain MRI -­‐ Marseille The Central Nervous System group (Pr Jean-Philippe Ranjeva) of CRMBM (Center for Magnetic
Resonance in Biology and Medicine) in Marseille (France) is seeking for 2 post-doctoral MR
physicists. The successful candidate will work on the development on the new human 7T-whole-body
MR system (Siemens, Step 2) to be operated in may 2014 in a multidisciplinary team (20 persons).
Salary: up to 2500 euros net/month, depending on years of experience. Salary is provided by the AMIDEX
program (7T-AMISTART) of Aix-Marseille Université and includes health insurance and social coverage.
Opportunities for evening French language classes (2h/week) may also be open in October 2014 at the
University.
Starting date : July 2014
Position I (18 months): Brain Sodium (23Na) MRI at 7T to characterize patients with multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. Required Qualifications: • PhD in Medical Physics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering or related areas. • Experience in 23Na MRI or UTE 1H MRI • Experience in MR pulse sequence programming (ideally IDEA). Preferred qualifications: • Good publication record • Experience in UHF (7T) acquisitions in humans. • Proficiency with programming languages (C, C++, Matlab). • Good written and oral communication skills in English Position II (18 months): DTI and fMRI at 7T to characterize human brain connectivity Required Qualifications: • PhD in Medical Physics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering or related areas. • Experience in DTI and fMRI to assess functional and structural connectivity • Experience in MR pulse sequence programming (ideally IDEA). • Proficiency with programming languages (C, C++, Matlab). Preferred qualifications: • Good publication record • Good written and oral communication skills in English Lab description: CRMBM-CEMEREM researches focus on multimodal MR investigations of heart, muscle and
central nervous system pathologies. Translational researches are conducted, from animal models to patients and
from MR developments to clinical applications.
CRMBM-CEMEREM MR facilities include Bruker 4.7T and 11.75T MR systems for small animal imaging and
Siemens 1.5T and 3T MR systems for human studies. The 7T whole-body Siemens Step2 scanner will be
installed in may 2014.
