Hello LHBC family,
What a week it’s been! If anyone thought Noah’s ark was just a fable, the flooding in
Quebec has shown how powerful ongoing rainfall can be. Imagine 40 days straight of
rain! It was ominous when I was driving through a shallow river on Pierrefonds
boulevard on Wednesday morning. Over the last couple of days, we have seen so many
across Quebec finding their neighborhoods turn into lakes. Thankfully, there has been
no loss of life. I can’t help but think it is a humbling reminder that despite all our
advancements and devices, our security lies with God.
Tonight, the Youth Group will be meeting at Terra Nova at 7pm. Details have been sent
to the parents.
Also tonight, Scott Atkins and his band are playing at Calistoga Grill at 9pm. Great live
music, good food and even some – eek – tap beer!
It is another busy weekend with the WIN prayer seminar tomorrow: Awaken The Lord’s
Prayer at Westview. See website for details. The Art Hive is open on Saturday for its
second last session of the spring 1-4pm. And tomorrow evening we have Stonehaven
Productions coming to put on a musical drama: A Costly Game. See attached poster for
more details, or our website.
Sunday, we will be celebrating communion as the first of May, and with the new month
we will be ushering in different songs for the offertory and meditational. If you had song
suggestions for us to sing, please feel free to speak with Liz or myself.
The bible studies are back in full swing on Tuesdays (morning: Ladies Bible Study,
evening: book of Acts), and Choir practice on Thursdays.
