Committee Reports – New announcements
• Sunshine Committee- ES, MS/HS
• Staff appreciation weeks POC Stacy Oliver
• STAAR snacks- March 28 4,5,7,8th grade
• March 29- 5, 8th grade
• Have room parents get snacks for ES students to increase involvement of
parents- email sent to Bibi
• Suggested items: breakfast/protein bars, cheese sticks, crackers, fruit snacks,
mints
• MS snacks will be provided by PTO
• Volunteer Coordinators- ES, MS/HS
• MS/HS volunteer requests sent to Shanita
• Book Fair- ES, MS/HS
• ES- Fair held Feb 23-March 3 7:30am-4:30pm
• Cash profit = $2720.00, Scholastic dollars= $1000
• REMIND- staff to use our Scholastic Book Dollars for any purchases at Scholastic
• Redemption Program
• Box Tops Contest ended Feb 17
• ES- Box Top spirit sticks ordered and will be given to ES students who turned in a
completed box tops form, free cookie from Jason’s Deli were also given
• MS/HS students- entered into raffle for (2) $10 I-tunes gift cards
• AR Program
• As of last week: 97 out of 400 eligible kids have taken AR tests , approx. 25%
participation
• New incentives: 25 point brag tag available as well as regular monthly incentive
• End of year celebration: all kids that have reached their goal will get to sign the “book of
Achievements”
• Stats for grade level goals: 5th grade: 16 students, 4th grade: 47 students., 3rd grade: 19
students, 2nd grade: 30 students
• Use Scholastic Book Fair money instead of budget to purchase items from Scholastic
• Spirit Wear
• Spirit Night
• April- McAlisters- need to confirm
• Zoe’s Kitchen has offered to host a spirit night, 15% of sales

Publicity
• Newsletter will not be sent home via backpack mail, only paper copies available at front
office
• Electronic copies sent to room parents, secretaries, posted on FB
• Send all info to Stacy by March 28 for April newsletter

Yearbook
• Final layout sent February 27
• Ordered 200 yearbooks total
• 105 sold online
• Font office will be taking prepaid orders for yearbook

• HS Senior Scholarship- due March 28,
• 11 students applied- depending on the ranking results, decide if top 4 students will get a
scholarship
• Scholarship availability will be posted on Project Grad FB page (Bibi)

• Ms Hemenway- requesting PTO to look for something that can be given to new transfer
students- quotes requested for wooden coins/chips- ask REACH grant to make initial order
since this will be the most expensive due to initial art fee
• Mr Miller’s fund request:
o Follow protocol in requesting funds: complete funds request form, have Ms Fox review
list, if items are not covered by the district then PTO will be happy to help for some
items
o By requesting through the principal first this will indicate a need to increase his budget
for the Theatre Arts class
o Items requested need to be in priority order and how many
• Open positions for next fall:
o Executive board positions: President, RES VP, MS/HS VP, Secretary
• Texas Cavaliers River Parade- Monday, April 24th, IBC Plaza- activities/dinner will
start at 5:30pm, parade formally starts at 7- 8:40pm
o POC Henry Gonzales ([email protected]) Chairman of the Military Program
o 100 free tickets offered (must be used)
o Tickets will be given on a first come, first serve basis in the front office, if we run
out we can get more and offer to the MS/HS students

PTO Today Expo- March 7, 9-2pm, San Marcos Embassy Suites, promo code: “expocode” for
FREE admission
