Help Joe celebrate his birthday on July 25th with a Birthday Bananza in his honor! Below you
will find ideas for decor, activities, food and more to help Kids Club members say Happy
Birthday, Money Mammals style!
Invitations
Attached you will find an invitation to send out to club members. The individual invitation is
sized to fit A2-sized paper (5.5” x 4.25”). Also included is a template for printing two
invitations on a standard 8.5” x 11” paper, with guides for where to cut out the
individual invitations.
Decor
Happy Birthday Bunting
Supplies
• Bunting Printable
• Cardstock
• Scissors
• Ribbon or string
• Tape
To Make: Print bunting flags on cardstock
and cut out. Lay out letters and tape to
ribbon at the very top of each flag. Leave
a foot or so of ribbon at each end for tying
and securing when hanging.
(Each word will create a separate banner.)
Coconut Valley Vines
Supplies
• Leaf templates
• Green paper or cardstock
• Long yellow balloons
• 5” round brown balloons
• Thick twine or floral wire (can
be purchased at a craft store
or hardware store)
• String
• Scissors
• Hole punch
To Make Banana Balloons: Partially blow up
long yellow balloons, tie a knot. Tie a knot
in the other end of the balloon, pull tightly
and trim off excess balloon. Punch a hole in
one of your smaller leaves and slip over knot
(See leaf instructions below).
To Make Leaves: Print and cut out leaf
templates, trace onto green cardstock and
cut out as many as needed, depending on
length of the final vine. Fold each leaf in half
and crease. Cutting through both layers,
make small curved cutouts along the curved
side of the leaf.
To Make Coconut Balloons: Blow up 5”
round balloons and knot.
To Assemble: Cut a length of twine to fit the
space you plan to hang it. Tie on large
leaves, bananas and coconuts, alternating
between each and spreading several inches
apart, with string.
Money Mammals Balloon Hangers
Supplies
• Money Mammals Balloon
Hangers printable
• Cardstock
• Balloons (with ribbon)
• Tape
To Make: Print balloon hangers on cardstock
and cut out. Attach one to the end of each
balloon string. Note: These alone will not act as
weights for the balloon. Be sure to add or
purchase a balloon weight separately.
Party Hats
Supplies
• Party hat printable
• Cardstock
• Scissors
• Elastic (or ribbon/string)
To Make: Print party hat printable on cardstock
and cut out. Cut out ears as well, if using.
Cut a slit as indicated on the party hat. Slip tab
through slit (for easier assembly, fold in the
sides of the tab when slipping through the slit,
then unfold inside the party hat. If adding Joe’s
ears, fold tab (along the edge of the inner tan
ear) and glue to each side of the hat. Poke a
hole on each side of the hat, slip elastic through
and tie a knot inside the hat on each side.
Tableware
Cover tables with yellow paper or plastic tablecloths. Purchase rolls of brown kraft paper (from
an office supplies store) to run down the center of the table if desired. Set out markers or
crayons that kids can use markers to write birthday messages to Joe right on the kraft paper
runners. Additionally, you can write on the kraft paper (before the party) with what food items
are available or what activities you’ll be doing. Write the name next to the item with an arrow
pointing to it.
Purchase yellow plates, cups, napkins and utensils. (All items can be purchased at a party
supply store.)
Food
“Joe” Cake Topper
Supplies
• Cake topper printable
• Two small leaves (from template)
• Scissors
• Hole punch
• Tape
• Wooden skewers
• String
To Make: Cut out flags. Tape to string at
very top. tie string tightly to wooden
skewers (the flat side of the skewer should
face up), trim excess. Punch a hole in the
top of each leaf and slip over each wooden
skewer. Insert pointed side of skewers into
cake. (Purchase cake with plain white or
yellow frosting.)
Water Bottles
Supplies
• Water bottle printables
• White paper
• Double-stick Tape
To Make: Purchase water bottles, remove
label. Print and cut out water bottle
printables. Wrap around bottle and adhere
with double stick tape.
Cupcakes + Cookies: Purchase cupcakes or cookies with yellow frosting
Bananza Trail Mix: Purchase trail mix and add banana chips
Banana Split Bar: More along the lines of an ice cream bar (with optional bananas for Joe!),
provide different flavors of ice cream and lots of sprinkles and toppings. Place each topping in
a separate bowl on the table and write directly on the kraft paper (as discussed above in tableware) what each topping is.
Swingin’ Sandwiches: If providing lunch-type food, purchase sandwiches and cut into minisized portions or cut out with a banana shaped cookie cutter
Favors
For a favor, you can simply allow kids to take home one of the Money Mammals balloons.
Additionally, you can turn the balloon hangers into bookmarks,
see below.
Money Mammals Bookmarks
Supplies
• Money Mammals Balloon Hangers printable
• Cardstock
• Ribbon
• Hole punch
To Make: Print balloon hangers on cardstock and cut out. Punch a
hole in their hands. Cut 6-8” lengths of ribbon. Fold ribbon in half,
slip looped end through hole, pull ends through the loop and tighten.
Activities
Set up several games where kids can play and compete for points. The three kids with the most
points can win a prize at the end. You can provide a large chart (a large white sheet of paper)
to keep score, or hand out brown paper lunch bags and a marker to each child and they can
keep track of the points on their own. Some possible games are listed below and feel free to
utilize other games you may already have, setting up a “point” system accordingly!
While the cake is being cut and served, add up the total points from the games for each child.
Then hold an awards ceremony to present the winners with their prizes.
Bean Bag Toss
Supplies
• Number printables
• Paper plates
• Tape
• Bean bags
To Make: Cut out number printables, tape to
paper plates. Tape plates, spread out in a single
line, to floor.
To Play: Kids attempt to land their bean bags on
plates. Each gets three tries and adds up their
total points at the end.
Pin the Money in the Save Jar
Supplies
• Pin the Money in the Save Jar printable (this prints on 11x17 paper)
• Money Mammals dollars
• Masking tape
• Blindfold
To Make: Print Pin the Money in the Save Jar poster and hang on wall. Print and cut out
Money Mammals dollars and attach a piece of masking tape to each.
To Play: Blindfold child and spin around. They must place their dollar as close to (or in!) the save
jar as possible.
Edible Matching Game
Supplies
• Hershey Kisses
• 3/4” Round labels (purchase at an office
supply store)
• Marker or Sharpie
To Make: Write money amounts on round
labels (two per amount). Place labels on the
bottom of Hershey Kisses. Arrange in columns
and rows.
To Play: Set up larger games or smaller oneon-one games. Kids play until all matches have
been found. They then add up their money
amounts and add it to their total points.
Bingo
Supplies
• Bingo card printables
• Number printables
• Number markers (can be candy or
bingo chips)
To Make: Cut out individual bingo cards. Cut out numbers.
To Play: Hand out a bingo card to each child. Place all number printables in a bag and elect
someone to draw them. Continue playing until there is a winner, who receives 100 points (or
chosen amount) to add to his or her total.
Scavenger Hunt
Supplies
• Fake money (and other items to hide, if desired)
• Paper lunch bags
To Make: Place fake money around the event space.
To Play: Give each kid a brown paper bag to use as they collect money they find around the
event space. They can add up their total money as “points” at the end.
