Word Study Week of January 23, 2012 High-Frequency Homophones Vol. 1 Homophone “sets” their, there, they’re lead, led to, too, two which, witch for, four, fore here, hear complement, compliment hole, whole principle, principal your, you’re Day 1 (Tuesday, 1/24): Sentences Use each word (23 total this week) in sentences. You may use multiple words in each sentence. Look up definitions for unknown words, if needed. Write these in your journal. Come to school Wednesday prepared to share your sentences. Day 2 (Wednesday, 1/25): Spelling Write each word 3 times in your journal to practice proper spelling. Study tip: While you’re writing, think about the meaning of each word! Come prepared on Thursday to use and spell these words correctly. Days 3 (Thursday, 1/26): Study for the assessment! An assessment for the High-Frequency Homophones usage and spelling will be on Friday, 1/27.
