Selma Unified School District*
Selma is a rapidly growing community of 24,844 residents. It offers a prime location
for business and recreation activities, situated approximately 200 miles from both
San Francisco and Los Angeles. The main entrances of Kings Canyon, Sequoia, and
Yosemite National Parks are just 70 miles away and the Central Coast is within a short
drive of less than three hours. Hometown events and locally owned businesses,
along with national retailers, make Selma a full-service community.
Within a 15-minute drive time, there are approximately 153,817 people shopping in
Selma. Selma’s downtown, industrial and commercial developments have all become a great source of community pride in recent years. In addition, the Selma Unified School District has had multiple schools that have received Distinguished School
Status. Most recently Selma High School was honored with the 2014 Honor Roll
School status.
Recent development of a new Selma Arts Center has expanded the quality of life for
