At Badgerland, we encourage girls to dream big and do anything they set their sights on. This year we embraced that philosophy at the council level, too. 2014-15 marked the year Badgerland Girl Scouts became true agents of change. We raised our hand to be included among the early councils to launch innovative technology to make it easier for girls to join, while making it simpler to be a troop leader. This way leaders can spend more time where it counts—with our Girl Scouts. The Customer Engagement Initiative, or CEI, includes technology that helps parents quickly find a troop for their daughter to join by browsing our online Troop Opportunity Catalog. A key feature of CEI is Volunteer Toolkit which gives troop leaders convenient, mobile access to all the information they need to run their troop including a year’s worth of meetings and resources. And there’s more. CEI brought us a new website brand aligned with Girl Scouts USA and sister councils. On the back side, CEI includes exciting systems that allow Badgerland to deliver amazing customer service to our membership. We made a significant financial investment in CEI because, we believe, this technology is a game changer for Girl Scouts. We can grow membership by making it easier for girls and volunteers to join. And we can retain members by providing a first-class experience thanks, in part, to improved technology. Beyond CEI, Badgerland teamed up with over 120 program partners to deliver world class opportunities to girls including exciting STEM programs. Additionally, travel was on the docket as Badgerland girls and adult delegates traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah for the 53rd National Convention. There, we were delighted to hear the announcement of new outdoor badges as we continue our efforts to grow summer programming while making prudent decisions around property. This year, the Beloit Service Center and Camp Echo Valley were sold as per the Badgerland Property Plan. A new, smaller Service Center opened in leased office space in Janesville receiving a warm welcome from both the Girl Scouts and business communities. These changes and many more are driven with a simple goal: to deliver a premier Girl Scout experience while helping our girls discover everything is possible when you are a Girl Scout! We are proud of our work and changes made over the past year while eagerly looking forward to the future and all the ways our Girl Scouts will make their mark...and make the world a better place.
