Pictured above are recent photos of two of the seven concrete support structures that
are situated along Spring Garden Street at the Freeman Mill Road overpass.
A Street Mural project supported by a grant from the NC Arts Council will enhance
the appearance of this site, which has been chosen as a trail head parking area for
Phase 1 A of The Downtown Greenway.

Murals Designed by Primary Flight, Miami FL
Primary Flight, an artistic collective based in Miami, FL, has been chosen to design and
paint colorful murals on each of the large scale supports. Primary Flight explores and
promotes aesthetic expression from established and emerging artists, delivering a bold,
urban sensibility to underutilized areas. Their art transforms communities by educating,
informing and enlightening through the creation of outdoor museums. Their three week
installation, scheduled from April 18 through May 9, 2012, will include an invitation to the
public to participate in the creation of part of their work.
