Admission requirements for full admission Students must have a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale secondary school cumulative GPA. COMPASS or ACT scores reflect that the student is college ready. COMPASS: 80 or better on Reading, 81 or better on Writing (or 69 or better with an e-write of 6 or better), and 65 or better on the Algebra portion of the Math COMPASS. ACT: 18 or better on Reading, 18 or better on Writing, and 21 or better on Math. Attendance records are positive (less than 15 total days for the three previous semesters or a 95% attendance rate). Positive recommendation from a high school counselor, principal or teacher(s). A grade of “C” or better in Algebra I and Geometry, or equivalent mathematics courses. A grade of “C” or better in Earth Science and Biology, or equivalent science courses. Admission requirements for provisional admission Students who have a minimum 2.75 on a 4.0 scale high school cumulative GPA will be evaluated on a case by case basis. COMPASS or ACT scores reflect that the student is college ready. COMPASS: 80 or better on Reading, 81 or better on Writing (or 69 or better with an e-write of 6 or better), and 65 or better on the Algebra portion of the Math COMPASS. ACT: 18 or better on Reading, 18 or better on Writing, and 21 or better on Math. Attendance records are positive or can be explained by counselor as being “situational” or beyond the student’s control. Recommendation of high school counselor, principal, or teacher(s) that provides insight/reasoning as to why academic performance did not meet program admissions standards. A grade of “C” or better in Algebra I and Geometry, or equivalent mathematics courses. A grade of “C” or better in Earth Science and Biology, or equivalent science courses. Provisional students must agree to actively participate and show potential in an academic enhancement program. Academic deficiencies are the responsibility of the student and must be completed prior to start of the 2nd year of the program. This would include courses such as: Health, Phys. Ed, and requirements unique to the student’s residency associate school. Financial responsibility for correction of deficiencies rest with the student or student’s parents. Special Considerations Non-traditionally educated students from an accredited (home school, charter school, ECOT, etc.) program/institution will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
