The Von Arkel brand was born from the enthusiasm of two brothers, one an optician
and the other a consultant in new technologies. Both share the same ambition:

To achieve this, Von Arkel brought together the best know-how in the fields of micromechanics, optics, physics and information technology. The pooling of companies
renowned for their competence and quality allowed the ambition of Von Arkel
eyewear to be realized in a finished product which incorporates a revolutionary
hinge, derived from the world of watchmaking, ARKLIGHT ™ optical lens, and the
use of PVD physical process for the treatment of colors.

choice of materials to the manufacture
of the hinge, to the choice of partner for
the lenses, and not forgetting the sales
interface derived from cutting-edge IT,
every aspect has been considered to
ensure a truly exceptional product.
One of the great innovations of Von
Arkel glasses is their revolutionary
hinge. To deal with the problem of
friction and allow greater reliability and
durability, the hinge is designed using
the same steel alloy and the same barturning processes as those employed
in watchmaking.
With its Premium eyewear line, Von
Arkel claims the SWISS MADE label
in exactly the spirit of the great brands
that have established its reputation.
By entirely avoiding any friction in the
titanium parts, the hinge is virtually
wear-free. The mounting of the lenses is
also considerably simplified and quality
remains constant after assembly.
The sheer simplicity of Von Arkel
eyewear’s monobloc design is its most
attractive feature. Without any screws
or soldering and without any chemical
treatment, the frame was conceived
with the ideals of eco-sustainability in
mind. Almost unprecedentedly, the
frames are drawn straight onto the
titanium, rendering them particularly
light and hardwearing. Supple fitting,
they are nonetheless firm to wear and
so exceptionally comfortable.
As a result of this ingenious innovation,
Von Arkel frames comprise only three
parts: two side arms and the front, thus
limiting the habitual weak points.

is systematically applied so as to render the lenses hydrophobic, smear-resistant, antistatic, glare-resistant and scratch proof.

PVD COLORING GREATER RELIABILITY
Whereas the hinge is produced in steel alloy, the frame is entirely made of titanium.
The unique lightness of this material, as well as its strength, suppleness, elasticity
and its elegance mean that every pair of Von Arkel glasses is a hardwearing,
corrosion resistance, anti-allergic and beautiful object all at once.
Another significant particularity of Von Arkel is the use of the PVD (Physical Vapour
Deposition) process to color the frames. The process employs nanotechnology
via a process termed “reactive deposit” to color the titanium parts of the frame.
This cutting-edge procedure guarantees deeply encrusted color and thus a
reliability and wear resistance that is better than any other coloring process,
ensuring that Von Arkel frames conserve their color durably and forever.
