FASCIA INSTALL Pre-drill and counter sink clearance holes starting 2” in from board end and 2” from outer edge of fascia board, every 16“ using a 3/16” drill bit. Screw down the fascia board using the pre-drilled holes. Use #8 stainless steel composite deckscrew at least 1 1/2” length. The oversized hole will allow for expansion/contraction, if needed. Do not fully tighten screw. Drill screws in perpendicular, not at an angle. Do not overdrive, splitting may occur. Gapping: Install at the mean temperature of your geographical area. The temperature of composite fascia boards should be at least 45º F at the time of installation. This is not the same as air temperature. For board ends allow 1/16” for every 20º F difference between installation temperature and your hottest average temperature. Regardless of temperature a 1/16” minimum gap is required. Failure to use proper gapping will void all warranties and liabilities. Fascia may be installed to cover the ends of boards or under the cantilevered deck surface. Rhino Deck/Armadillo Board End Sealer must be used on all fascia board ends and any ripped surfaces. Failure to do so will void warranty on any end swelling. Armadillo fascia boards are not made to be used as deck boards.
