the importance of brushing and massaging

THE IMPORTANCE OF BRUSHING AND
MASSAGING YOUR HAIR
Brushing your hair properly is one of the
most important elements in the maintenance
and rejuvenation of your hair, especially when
combined with scalp massage. It is second only
to proper diet and the use of holistic shampoos
and conditioners.
Daily brushing of the hair and scalp is far
more cleansing than any commercial/artificial
shampoo. Brushing eliminates waste matter
--- such as deposits of uric acid, catarrh and
other acidic debris --- that build up to become
encrusted on the scalp.
Brushing also stimulates
capillaries, increasing blood
circulation and transport
of oxygen-rich nutrients
to the hair stem, root and
bulb. Most importantly, daily
brushing stimulates hormone
and oil-producing glands.
This keeps the pores of the
hair and scalp open, allowing
them to breathe and retain
their natural oils.
clogs scalp pores and follicles as well. This
not only interferes with nourishment to the
roots but also disrupts normal hair growth by
confusing the sebaceous glands’ regulation of
natural fallout and reproductive cycles. These
dangerous chemicals are also ingested into the
bloodstream, posing a serious potential threat
to the overall health of your body.
Proper brushing and massage —when used
in conjunction with holistic shampoos and
conditioners —help bring your sebaceous
glands into balance. Nontoxically cleansing your scalp

Hair loss problems can almost always be
traced to the sebaceous glands, your hair’s
natural oil-producing and lubricating system.
Glands that are out of balance will either overor under- produce sebum—the natural fatty oils
that deliver nutrients to hair. When they overproduce, follicles drown in their own oil with
the result that the scalp is greatly weakened
and hair begins to fall out. Conversely, when
sebaceous glands under-produce, roots
and follicles starve, leading to dry, brittle and
prematurely lost hair.
Foreign matter in synthetic mousses, gels,
sprays, shampoos and conditioners frequently
Brushing is actually a form of
dry-shampooing. Stimulation
from the bristles distributes
sebum throughout hair and
scalp, making both stronger
and more resilient. It’s also an
excellent natural conditioner
because coating hair with
sebum as you brush restores
moisture, giving hair added sheen, smoothed
texture and greater manageability.
How to Massage Your Hair
Massage your scalp 1 to 3 times a day using
our rubber 100% Natural Morrocco Scalp
Massager. Never use plastic (at the risk of
scratching your scalp).
Begin at the nape of your neck, which has
the largest concentration of sebaceous glands.
Massage gently but vigorously in a circular
motion for 3 to 5 minutes until you feel your
scalp tingling with the increased flow of blood.
Combine the external benefits of properly brushing
your hair with the internal result of stimulating deeper
scalp tissues. Your reward will be sebaceous glands
that produce a balanced, health-enhancing portion
of sebum.
“Anthony Morrocco gave me back the
top of my head! It’s amazing how little
is understood about natural hair care --even among the medical community. My
hair loss stopped thanks to the unique
and powerful Morrocco Method holistic
system.”

How to Brush Your Hair
Your goal is to increase circulation, maximally
nourishing the entire scalp and all follicles, for
healthy new hair growth. Stand erect, then bend
over from the waist as far as possible, allowing
blood to flow freely into your scalp. Firmly grasp
your brush handle, moving through the areas of
the nape, sides and crown all the way to your front
facial hairline. Brush in slow easy strokes for 3 –
5 minutes. Then stand erect again and reverse
the process. This thoroughly coats your hair with
sebum, allowing the “natural elixir” to condition and
lusterize your hair.
Which Brush to Use
Using the proper brush is as important as properly
brushing your hair. A natural-bristle brush is best.
Boar bristles are preferable because they are
almost identical to human hair in texture. They are
also extremely gentle to the hair, evenly distributing
natural oils and removing foreign matter.
bristles to conform precisely to the contour of your
scalp, providing maximum healthful stimulation
without ever irritating it or pulling/breaking your hair.
There are a variety of specialized Morrocco
Method Boar Brushes to choose from, depending
upon the thickness of your hair and your scalp’s
sensitivity. You have the option of selecting among
very soft-bristled brushes or the more vigorously
firm-bristled ones, as well as different sizes for
home use or travel. All are constructed of the finest
natural materials currently available.
When to Brush
For optimum maintenance and rejuvenation of
your hair, it is vitally important to do consistent
brushing three times a day: morning, late afternoon
and bedtime. As you begin, sit quietly for a few
minutes, breathing slowly and deeply through your
nose. Calming your body (especially shoulders,
forehead and scalp), releases any flow-blocking
tension.
Make brushing a regular habit. Nightly use of your
brush is especially critical. By coating your hair with
additional sebum, you set in motion new, healthy
growth while you experience the renewal of sound
sleep.
“When I started using MM I had
only a few strands of hair toward
the front of my scalp. After a year
and a half my hairline has grown
forward almost ½ inch. With
this kind of progress I have more
confidence in my appearance and
plan to quit wearing my hairpiece
in a few months!”
