WyHigh Update Issue 68 w/c 3rd October 2016 Mr Rockey, Principal Uniform reminder: To maintain our high standards within the Academy, uniform checks will begin next week throughout the school day, but particularly during form time and assemblies. Students should ensure that they are smartly dressed in the correct uniform at all times. Open Days / Open Evening: A reminder that parents wishing to attend the Year 6 Open Days on the 10th and 11th October and / or the Open Evening on Tuesday 11th October, should book their preferred time by calling main school reception on 01953 602078 or email [email protected]. Please also note that the school will be open from 5.45 pm on the Open Evening with presentations at 6pm and 7pm. Technology Club: Students in years 7 to 9 are invited to take part in a new technology enterprise club on Mondays, where they can design, make and then sell their own designs. The club will run from 3.05 until 4.05 pm each Monday. Those interested should contact Miss Bentley in M05 or Miss Harwood in M04. Student Achievements: Jake Everitt [Y8 M9] is hoping to qualify for the England triple crown trials for the under 16s in bowling. Jake is also hoping to qualify for the England Academy training. Zachary Marshall-Bull [Y8 C2] completed the Annual Norfolk Churches Trust sponsored Bike Ride 2016 over 8 hours and raised £158 for his local church St Edmunds. Holly Marchant [Y9 A7] has had a very successful cricket season. She has captained Norfolk U13s girls, was ranked 1st nationally for her bowling by the EBC (English Cricket Board) for age group and 6th for her batting, was awarded Norfolk's girl player of the season and gained 1 of the six places in Norfolk’s Cricket Board's Centre of Excellence. D of E Gold Awards – The following students have been invited to receive their Gold awards from St. James Palace: Jonathan Briggs, Oliver Cuss, Joshua Mellor, Jack Phillips, Leah Preston, Stephanie Wagg and Ben Withey.
