Shree Jadeja | Introduction to Quilling: Quilling also known as Paper Filigree is an art form that involves the
use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create innovative designs.
Shree is an artist with diverse sensibilities who dabbles in a variety of art forms like Quilling, Murals, Sanjhi Art,
Pottery, Origami, Ikebana, Stained-glass, Tanjore and one-stroke painting. Since she started her freelance
career in early 2000, Shree has worked in places like Tokyo, California, Bangalore and Dubai.
Course Outline:
Week 1
Introduction to different paper sizes and its usage: Learn to Quill few basic
shapes and scrolls using a base Quilling tool & tweezer.
Week 2
Introduction of more Quilling Tools & Punches: Learn to make a Rose; Learn
to create Fringed Flowers. Learn the technique to craft Innovative
Leaves/Flowers.
Week 3
Choosing a Project: Board work, Greeting Card, Snow Flakes, Earrings,
Flower basket decoration; Cross learning, Team work.
Week 4
Completion of Project
This course introduces the base concepts of Quilling and how one can leverage the nitty-gritties of this unique
art to let loose the latent potential inherent within. At the end, each student will leave the class with at least one
completed Quilled Project.
General Course Requirements
Mandatory: 1 basic slotted Quilling tool, 1 tweezer, 4 packs of Quilling Paper (2 each of 3mm & 5mm), 2
Coloured sheets of Paper (30cms x 40cms), 1 Craft Glue, 1 mini cane basket.
Minimum one-time Mandated Material cost would be AED 85. This will be available at the venue.
Optional: Scissors, Punches, Quilling Comb, Quilling Coach & Crimper.
The material cost for these will be separate and some of these can be bought at the venue.
