Christmas Story Rhyme
The angel came down (touch top of shoulders and then spread arms out to
side like wings/flying)
from God to say (point arm straight up to God)
that Mary will have a baby (pretend to rock a baby in your arms) on
Christmas Day.
His name will be Jesus (touch middle of left palm with right middle finger tip
and then do same thing with opposite hand/finger) ,
God's only Son (point arm straight up to God).
He will show that God loves everyone. (place arms crisscrossed over chest
with fisted hands)
Mary and Joseph traveled far, far away. (pat legs like walking)
When they got to Bethlehem (hold hands out and shake head “no”),
there was no place to stay.
God gave them a stable (make a roof over head with hands) filled with cows
and sheep.
Jesus was born (pretend to hold a baby),
and on hay he did sleep (fold your hands under your head like you are
sleeping).
The shepherds were watching (place your hand over your eyes like you are
loo)king for something) their sheep at night.
An angel came and caused a great fright! (Put your hands
on up to cheeks and make a face like you are scared.)
“Don't be afraid. (Shake your head 'no.')
I have good news!” (Give two thumbs-up.)
Jesus is born (touch middle of left palm with right
middle finger tip and then do same thing with opposite hand/finger)
for you and you and you (point to different people)!
The angels sang and the shepherds ran (pat legs fast like running)
to see the baby (pretend to hold a baby)
God sent to man!” (Point straight up to God)
Then wise men came following a special star (rub index fingers together
pointing up)
All the way to Jesus (touch middle of left palm with right middle finger tip
and then do same thing with opposite hand/finger)
they came from afar. (Put your hand over your eyes like you are looking out).
They knocked on His door (pretend to knock),
Then they knelt on the floor (kneel down on both knees.)
Then they gave their gifts to Jesus. (Hold your hands
out like you’re giving a gift).
