The League Board is committed to making this as rewarding as possible for the kids. Your help is important to us and very much appreciated. This includes getting your player to and from games and practices on time. We also ask that you and your player please commit to the entire spring baseball season, including the end of the year tournaments. We expect a lot out of our coaches and umpires. We also expect a high level of good behavior and participation from the players and parents. Please encourage positive comments at all times and discourage negative comments towards other players, coaches, umpires, board members or other volunteers. Remember this is a volunteer organization. Please feel free to volunteer and help out. The more participation we get from all involved the better our league will be. If volunteering is something you would like to do, please fill out a Coach/Assistant Coach/Volunteer Application (all the same application) and let us know how you would like to help. Note: As of 2014, Babe Ruth League, Inc. is requiring background checks on all volunteers. Equipment and uniforms are very important to the safety and enjoyment of the game. Please take extra care of them. The league will issue uniforms, bats, batting helmets, catchers gear and baseballs to each team manager. Equipment must be turned in at the end of the season. Remember that equipment costs money and having to replace equipment that has been lost, misplaced, or abused is a major expense to the league. Players must provide their own fielding gloves. Players may use their own bats, provided they meet the acceptable Babe Ruth regulations. Bats will be inspected. Any bat that cannot be identified as a legal bat will be removed. Additional equipment not provided by PYB includes athletic supporters and athletic protective cups which are required for boys playing the catcher position. No exceptions. Shoes with metal cleats are not permitted in Cal Ripken leagues (t-ball, rookies, minors, and majors). Metal cleats are acceptable in the Babe Ruth leagues ages 13 – 15. Players are not permitted to wear jewelry. Medical alert bracelets may be worn but must remain visible. Please help keep children from climbing or hanging on the chain link fences. Candy Bar Fundraiser: Polson Baseball’s main fundraiser is selling chocolate candy bars. This money is used toward equipment, field maintenance and umpires. Candy bars will be distributed to players by coaches after team selection. Candy bar money will need to be collected by coaches and turned in at a date to be determined. We encourage players to sell all the assigned candy bars themselves with an explanation of how it supports their participation. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask a board member and visit our website at www.polsonbaseball.org for further information. You can also follow along the season on FaceBook at Polson Baseball. We will be posting information throughout the season. We look forward to having another successful season. Play Ball!!!
