Salary range: $15-$17 per hour
The Illumination Foundation is currently seeking a part-time Grant Writer to help support our
fundraising and advocacy efforts. This is a part-time, on-site position based in our Santa Ana
office. Only local candidates (Orange County) will be considered.
The Illumination Foundation is an Orange County based health and human services nonprofit
with the mission to end the cycle of homelessness. While many of our services focus on
stabilizing families through housing and supportive services, we also offer specialized healthcare
services for chronically homeless individuals and the medically vulnerable. An ideal candidate
would have experience in healthcare systems navigation and a developed interest in public
health. As our organization continues to grow, the role of the Grant Writer is essential to the
Illumination Foundation’s comprehensive housing, medical, and social service programs.
The position of the Grant Writer is focused on the full range of activities required to research,
write, and submit grant proposals to foundation and corporate agencies.
The Grant Writer will:
 Research public and private grant opportunities in the areas of homelessness, medical




services, and youth services
Submit accurate and well-written letters of interests, grant proposals, and
acknowledgements in a timely manner
Prepare interim and final reports on our programs’ progress
Collaborate with other departments (Operations, Accounting) to obtain budget and
program data
Prioritize multiple deadlines, work independently, and meet challenging deadlines
Ideal Candidate will possess:
 Excellent writing and communication skills
 Excellent proofreading and editing skills
 A commitment to supporting low-income and homeless families in Orange County
 Ability to distill data into story-driven narrative
 Perform basic computer and office functions: Office Suite and Google Docs/Calendar
 Previous work nonprofit work experience highly desired
 Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small dynamic team
 Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally, keep deadlines, and achieve
results
This is a part-time position (25-30 hours/week) that has the strong potential to move to full time.
This position will be on-site, Monday – Friday. Illumination Foundation is committed to
