About YJS
Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore is the only Ashkenazi day school
in the Jersey Shore area. YJS educates children from
preschool through 8th grade and welcomes Jewish children of
all backgrounds and levels of observance. YJS’s groundbreaking educational model is child-centered and designed to
nurture every student’s intellect and unique sense of self.
Dedicated and highly trained faculty help to create an
atmosphere in which students can achieve their spiritual,
intellectual, and social potential while recognizing the
relevance of Jewish values in their lives.

Naava and Rabbi Joshua Hess are cherished members of the YJS family, and are leaders in Torah
education both at the school and in their home community of Linden, NJ. Morah Naava joined the
YJS faculty as the school’s first Kindergarten teacher in 2010, and she is beloved by students,
parents, and colleagues alike.

His record includes efforts to protect our Jersey Shore environment and to promote the values of
the Jewish community including the importance of Jewish education and support for the State of
Israel. We know that he will continue to serve as a tireless advocate for our shared values in all of
his future endeavors.
