Calvin D. Jamison, Sr. Senior Vice President for Business Affairs The University of Texas at Dallas Calvin D. Jamison is the Senior Vice President for Business Affairs at The University of Texas at Dallas, and is a Clinical Professor in the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences. He is responsible for financial management, budget and resource planning, facilities management, planning and construction, land development, police, human resources, procurement, and environmental health and safety. In addition to providing leadership for more than $300 million in new construction, he has also been responsible for initiating the University’s Lean Initiative, Customer Service Excellence Implementation, and Wellness programs. Jamison has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, corporate America, and local government. Prior to assuming his present role, he was the Senior Vice President at Virginia Tech, and Chief Administrative Officer at Hampton University. He began his career in higher education as a recruiter responsible for general admissions, with a special focus on increasing the matriculation of underrepresented students and developing a progressive scholarship initiative. He developed Project Pipeline, a mentorship triad targeting the enrollment of middle school students in higher education. His FAME (Faculty Administrator Mentor Enhancement) program was a model for involving faculty and administrators in the retention of students. He has served as Assistant to the President at Virginia Tech, and held faculty and administrative positions at Virginia Commonwealth University. Jamison is the former CEO/City Manager of the City of Richmond, Virginia, where he managed a workforce of 4,500 and a budget of over $1.2 billion. During his tenure, the city experienced an investment of $4 billion in new development and received three bond rating upgrades in two years, a first for the City of Richmond. He was an Executive for the Ethyl Corporation, a Fortune 1000 company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. In addition to teaching in the graduate programs in higher education administration and public administration, Jamison has been a fundraiser and community volunteer. His office sponsors an annual UTD Scholarship Golf Tournament, which has raised more than $275,000 to date in scholarships for students. He is a former “Cadmus Leader in Residence” in the Jepson School of Leadership at the University of Richmond. He is the former Chair of the Virginia Tourism Corporation Board of Directors, Past President of the Arts Council of Richmond, and former Chair of the Greater Richmond Convention Center Authority. In 2006, Jamison received the Distinguished Alumni Service Award from Virginia Tech. In 2008, he was appointed to the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors by the Governor of Virginia. Jamison is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO), TASSCUBO, Board of Directors of NFBPA and Research Universities Council.
