How to Make the Perfect Gallon of Sweet Tea

How to Make the Perfect Gallon of Sweet Tea
I use this recipe two-three times a week for my extensive sweet tea drinking habit, and it's yet to fail me.
Materials Needed
Lipton Tea Bags (8), 1 Gallon Pitcher, Wooden Spoon, 1/2 Gallon Tea Pot, Sugar (I used sugar in the raw)
1 and 1/4 cup, *Stove
Step One
Remove Packaging from 8 Tea bags
I usually tie them neatly together, like this, to make them easier to remove later.
Step Two
Place Tea Bags in 1/2 Gallon teapot and fill with cold water.
Do not fill higher than the spout or it won't whistle when done (it will spit tea out everywhere when it
starts boiling instead).
Step Three
Place filled teapot on stove (over burner) and turn on high heat.
The boiling process should take about 7 minutes, more or less depending on the stove and the type of
pot you use.
Step Four
Fill gallon pitcher halfway with water (and ice) if you want it to be cold shortly after finished.
Step Five
Measure 1 and 1/4 cup of sugar, and add it to the water/ice mixture.
I use sugar in the raw because it's less processed.
Step Six
Once tea is boiled (whistling will indicate), turn off the stove, and move teapot from hot burner.
Remove tea bags. CAUTION: Tea will be hot.
You may want to pull the tea bags out using a spoon. The steam from the pot will be very hot. So you
may want to wait a while after boiling before removing.
Step Seven
Pour the tea into the water/ice/sugar mixture.
The hotter the tea is when added, the better the sugar will dissolve into the water.
Step Eight
Stir thoroughly until sugar is well dissolved.
Step Nine
Pour and Enjoy!
Keep refrigerated for best results.
