Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix Road Closures September 25 through September 28, 2014 Lancaster, CA. September 24, 2014 – The City of Lancaster is preparing for its sixth annual Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix. Event setup and activities throughout the weekend require the following road and City facility closures. A list of areas available for public parking is also provided below. Downtown Lancaster closures: o Lancaster BLVD will be closed from Fern Avenue to Yucca Avenue from 6 a.m. Thursday, September 25 through midnight Sunday, September 28. The closure expands to Genoa Avenue Saturday morning, September 27 through September 28 due to the event festival. o Traffic will be able to turn southbound on Genoa from The BLVD. o Sierra Highway will be closed from Jackman Avenue to Milling Street from 6 a.m. Thursday, September 25 through midnight Sunday, September 28. o The Date Avenue, Milling Street and Elm/Ehrlich Avenue loop (for race track) will be closed from 9 a.m. Thursday, September 25 through midnight Sunday, September 28. Elm/Ehrlich Avenue will also be closed between The BLVD and Kettering Street. Available public parking areas in the downtown area during the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix and weekend festival include: North of Lancaster BLVD: o Kildare Street parking lots behind the downtown banks; o Lancaster City Hall between Fern Avenue and Gadsden Avenue; o Alley parking lot behind Pour D’Vino and Kinetic Brewery; o North parking lots of American Heroes Park (along Jackman Avenue); o South parking lots of American Heroes Park (along Kettering Street); and o Library parking lot and parking strip behind the Western Hotel. South of Lancaster BLVD: o Parking lots between south of The BLVD and Milling Street, from Genoa Avenue to Fern Avenue and from Date Avenue to Sierra Hwy; and o Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) parking lot (this lot will be closed to general public on Saturday for patrons attending the Joan Jett concert). -moreCity of Lancaster 44933 Fern Avenue Lancaster, California 93534 661.723.6000 www.cityoflancasterca.org Downtown Lancaster City Facilities: o Museum of Art and History (MOAH) will be open Thursday, September 25 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and closed Friday, September 26 through Sunday, September 28. o Western Hotel will be closed all week and weekend September 22 to September 28. o MOAH: Cedar Gallery will be closed all weekend. o Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) box office will be open normal operating hours. For patrons attending the Joan Jett concert, parking will be available in the LPAC parking lot located behind the theater. Please be prepared to show your tickets to the parking attendant. Boulevard Businesses o The Boulevard businesses will be open during their normal operating hours.
