Primary Responsibilities:
Oversees program, directly supervises all program staff.
Experience:
Liz graduated from Elmhurst College with a degree
in Neuro psychology and sociology with a focus on
disabilities studies. She is a Certified Park and
Recreation Professional. The CPRP accreditation
recognizes qualified providers of recreation that have
met education and experience qualifications, illustrating
a commitment to the profession as well as a knowledge
and understanding of key concepts within parks and
recreation. She has over twenty years of experience
working with people with disabilities and has been
employed full time since 2004 by NWSRA.

through recreation and leisure activities that are fulfilling and enriching.

To be a leading force providing adult day programming options to
enrich the life experiences of the adult participants and their families
in the communities we serve.
Mission Statement: Clearbrook is committed to being a leader in creating
innovative opportunities, services and supports to people with disabilities.
Clearbrook serves people over a range of ages and disabilities from children diagnosed with
developmental delays at birth to the unique needs of seniors with disabilities and all ages in between.
Annually, Clearbrook supports over 6,000 individuals as well as their families in 13 counties, in over
160 communities and 50 locations throughout Chicago and the suburbs. Clearbrook is proud to be the
largest provider of home-based services in Illinois.

recreation for children and adults with disabilities.

enrich the life experiences of the participants, families and communities we serve.
Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) was formed in 1974 to provide recreation services
to individuals with disabilities and is an extension of 17 member park districts located in the northwest
suburbs of Chicago. This type of agency is unique to Illinois. NWSRA offers public access and year
round recreational programming to over 14,000 individuals with disabilities. NWSRA is the largest of
all special recreation associations and is a leader among peers
with over 18,000 registrations for programs annually. NWSRA is
a two-time National Recreation and Park Association National
Gold Medal Award winner and was recognized as a Distinguished
Accredited Agency by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association,
an honor only 10% of Illinois park and recreation agencies
have received.
PROGRAM OPTIONS INCLUDE
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
PURSUIT is designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities 21
years and older throughout the year by creating recreation and leisure
opportunities, improving health and wellness, teaching life skills, self
advocacy, and community integration. PURSUIT is licensed by the Illinois
Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities.

Admission: Continuous throughout the year, upon vacancies available.

Participants commit to a pre-selected day and time for programs from the following:
• Encouraging healthy eating habits
• Developing a positive body image
• Learning to cook nutritious snacks and meals
• Promoting a balanced lifestyle

TRANSPORTATION FEES
• Pick up and drop off locations will be located in the NWSRA service area and determined by the Manager of Special Recreation.
• A minimum of two people must be registered at each pick up and drop off location in order for the location to be utilized.
• Transportation times may change based on enrollment and/or last minute facility changes.
•Transportation for non-resident clients will be based upon
availability, after the needs of the resident clients have been met.
