Rules for the Live Auction
1.
Please take a seat during the auction so the spotters and auctioneer can see the bidders.
2.
The auction will move quickly, so review the items that interest you prior to the auction
and bid decisively.
3.
If you are bidding please participate loud and clear.
4.
If you are the successful bidder, please let auctioneer see your bid number.
Please take your bid number to the register after bidding; you will receive a receipt
after checking out and your items have been paid for.

Rules for the Silent Auction
1.
Bids are to be in $5 increments.
2.
No Item Guarding.
3.
The Silent Auction items will be pulled by SCWA staff or committee members.
4.
Please use only your bid number not your name.
5.
All items are to be paid for before you can pick them up.

After the auction, please take your receipts to the register table for payment.

1. “Sea Island Lagoon” by Jim Booth
Once more, artist Jim Booth has captured the tranquility of a Low Country marsh scene with Sea
Island Lagoon. Coastal palmetto trees frame the quiet solitude of a snowy egret, perched in sharp
contrast above the marsh grass and gently flowing tributary. It’s infused with soft and brilliant
blue and green shades.
2. Mallard Duck Call – Travis Watkins
This is a handmade walnut call created by local duck call maker Travis Watkins. Travis has been
making calls for a couple of years now and says this is one of the finest calls that he has created.
3. Camp Woodie – Junior Camp - One Week
Camp Woodie is the nation’s leading summer waterfowl and wildlife conservation camp. Camp
Woodie exists to educate our youth and pass on our waterfowl heritage and the values of wildlife
conservation. It is achieving its mission with the help of expert instructors that deliver hands-on
fun filled education programs to our next generation of young waterfowl hunters and
conservationists. (Winning bidder can upgrade to Senior Camp for 12 – 16 years old by paying the
$150 difference).
4. Tobacco Leaf Shadowbox – donated and framed by Real Art – Helen Bone
You are bidding on a shadowbox that features a tobacco leaf from Andrews, SC.
5. Joey Jobes Hand Carved Bluebill Decoy with Stand
The Jobes family has been carving working gunning decoys in the Havre De Grace Maryland
Chesapeake Bay area for over 75 years. This working bluebill decoy was hand carved by Joey
Jobes the Grandson of Captain Harry Jobes one of North America's most famous decoy carvers.
This decoy is sure to be a valuable collector’s item.
6. Wild Hog hunt in Cross, SC on the George Brittle Farm
This is a hog hunt for two and can be a father-son or a buddy hunt. Due to the lake levels coming
up, the hog activity is really picking up. Seventy-five hogs were harvested on this farm last year.

7. “Bachelor” by Sherrie Meline
This tranquil print features a wood duck perched on a mossy log. Make this enchanting print a
part of your home today!
8. SCWA Afghan
This afghan has been created especially for the South Carolina Waterfowl Association for this
banquet season. Featuring the full color print of a Boykin Spaniel with a Wood duck, painted by
famous artist, Jim Killen, this afghan will add style and function to the lucky winner’s household.

12. SCWA/Black Dog Hunt Club Property Duck Hunt - 3 People, 1 Day – Jan. 18th, 2017
Three of you will enjoy a guided duck hunt on the 195 acre SCWA managed duck impoundment
adjacent to the SCWA Wildlife Education Center. This is the largest duck pond in the area and is
planted with corn, chufa and jap millet. In addition 2,000 mallards are released annually on the
property. You will arrive in the afternoon before your hunt and enjoy a cocktail while watching the
evening duck flight. Then enjoy an oyster roast and dinner followed by the evening hunt talk.
Bunk house lodging included. The next morning you will enjoy a guided duck hunt followed by
breakfast. Your ducks will be cleaned and packaged for the ride home. This does not include $100
tip for guide who will provide guide services, decoys and bird cleaning. (Retail Value $1,800)

This is a Jim Killen print featuring a Boykin Spaniel with wood ducks. The 30th Anniversary SCWA
medallion is also included inside the frame. This print is a collector’s item for any waterfowler!

Hunting over 100 acres that will consist of flooded corn /rice fields and/or timber. Location will
depend on where the birds are located. Wappoolah Plantation is located on the banks of the
Cooper River and is well known for its capacity of waterfowl. Hunt is good for the 2016-2017 Duck

Hand Crafted in the Pacific Northwest by skilled craftsmen. D2 is an air hardening, high carbon,
high chromium tool steel with extremely high wear resistance. The high chromium content
provides good corrosion resistance but it will rust if not properly maintained. D2 is usually used by
custom knifemakers and is known for its ability to stand up to abuse in the field. Users of D2 have
raved about its cutting ability, durability and edge holding properties. Handles are made from the
"Beam" of the Elk Horn.
