Please let us know if this is in compliance with your schools community service guidelines. We
encourage any student interested to please reserve their spot by contacting Lee Ann at

Mario Lemieux is a hockey Legend who had his career cut short by Hodgkin’s Disease. In 1993
he beat the cancer and created The Mario Lemieux Foundation which he dedicated to raising
funds for cancer and neonatal research as well as Austin’s Playroom Project (created in 2000), an
initiative that creates sibling playrooms at medical facilities. The Rampage organization, the
largest adult hockey organization of its kind in Illinois, began supporting the Mario Lemieux
Foundation in 2010 when one of our very own players was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease,
the same disease Mario Lemieux battled before creating his foundation.
If you have any additional questions or would like more information on the Mario Lemieux or
our volunteer needs please contact me.
Sincerely,
Lee Ann Stawczyk

Dear Prospective Sponsor,
Rampage Women’s Hockey Team is excited to host our second annual Mario Lemieux
Foundation fundraiser. Rampage adopted the philanthropy in May of 2010 after a
teammate was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, the same disease that Mario
Lemieux battled before creating his foundation in 1993. Proceeds raised go toward cancer
and neonatal research as well as Austin’s Playroom Project, an initiative that creates
sibling playrooms for medical facilities. With the help of the Duffers Men’s Hockey
Team, who battled against the Rampage in a hard fought exhibition hockey game, we
raised $2,400 at last year’s Mario Lemieux Nite.
This year we are aiming to raise $5,000. Our event is a fun opportunity to skate with the
family, watch a hockey battle between the women of Rampage and the men of the Old
Duffers, eat some delicious BBQ and snag some great prizes!
You can help us reach our goal in three ways:
Donate a gift basket to be raffled off at the event
Donate [a] single item(s) for our silent auction or to be raffled off at the event
Donate directly to the Mario Lemieux Foundation. We will be accepting checks on
their behalf
Rampage Hockey invites you and your family to this event in support of a truly great
cause. More information can be found online at www.rampagehockey.org or at
www.mariolemieux.org.
We thank you for your consideration in helping Rampage reach our goals. Please contact
Brandi or Lee Ann should you need additional information.
Sincerely,
