Student speaks to communicate information and
ideas
You can speak the French language clearly, without
using too many English words and with little
hesitation. You are well understood. Your sentence
structure is accurate. Your vocabulary is rich. You
can grasp nuances that are not taught.
Student reads to explore, construct and extend
understanding.
You can read and understand what you are reading.
Through reading, you explore information and ideas
and you develop an understanding of the topic and
the purpose of the reading material.
Student writes to develop, organize and express
information and ideas.
When you write, you show that you can organize
your ideas and these ideas are well thought out and
are supported by plausible, well-researched and
detailed information. The errors of usage in your
writing are few and do not interfere with the
expression of your ideas. You have made a good
effort to learn French grammar and to complete
practice exercises that will help you write
accurately.
