Extra Words and Sentences

Extra Words and Sentences
EXTRA WORDS and SENTENCES
This time-saving resource is invaluable to the busy teacher or clinician. Words
and sentences have been supplied to complement the work being done
throughout the Green and Blue programs of DIPL. The sound knowledge and
spelling rules are those used in these programs.
These pages can be used to help the student who is experiencing a challenge in
developing literacy skills. They can be used as additional reading practice, or
as additional spelling practice, whether in the classroom, in a special needs
group, or at home.
In addition, these same pages of words and sentences can be used for
developing and enhancing the more able student's skills. In turn, such
students will, more than likely, take this increased knowledge and
understanding to extend themselves in all areas of literacy ... in fact, in all
areas of life!
This book has been compiled as an additional resource to assist the classroom
teacher, or special needs teacher, in supplying extra practice in developing
increased reading skills or improved understanding and use of the DIPL spelling
rules in a very practical way.
On the following pages, you will find:● an index of the contents
● some sample pages of the work supplied

Overview
These sheets of words and sentences are supplied so that the children can have
further practice at either reading or spelling or both.

Level 6
pages 1 - 13
pages 14 - 27
pages 28 - 32
pages 33 - 42
pages 43 - 47
pages 48 - 54
These levels correspond to those detailed in the Assessment Booklet.
Each sheet is divided into 4 days containing 10 words and 2 sentences.
For these sheets to be of maximum benefit, expect the children to get the
work correct, not just guess and move on to the next example.
If they are not sure of a word, have them say the sounds out loud and work it
out rather than having a few guesses and still being wrong. Referring to the
Teacher’s Reference Folders with the appropriate rule will give more guidance
for the Teacher.
