The idea behind this publication began when two girls, Noor Khalil-6C and Leann Ayesh-6B,
were talking about the newspapers they read and interviews that that they had seen on television.
Then Noor suddenly yelled out, “How about a school newspaper?!” Bouncing out of her seat
Leann yelled out, “We can try to start one!!!” After that, these two went into their own world;
brain storming ideas on a just a piece of paper. Their paper was soon filled with mixed emotions
like: nervous, excited, happy, and distracted. Now you know how a vision can be reality. They
have succeeded as you have now read the first publication of this newspaper.
You might be asking yourselves if only these two girls did the newspaper , well the answer is no. An amazing group of
people starting with the two teacher leaders, Mr. Ghassan and Mr. Tony and a team of students: Leann Ayesh, Noor
Khalil , Fatima Al Ameri, Ghaida Harb, Malak Bakir, Rinad Haimour, and Aamna Hasnain.
A Word from the Founders
I wanted to start the newspaper because I wanted to break my every year routine. I wanted to be excited about every
Sunday or any other day and maybe this will be exciting for me as well as you.
-
Leann Ayesh
The reason I wanted to write a newspaper was because I wanted something to make our school different from all the
others schools.

Not littering helps our environment stay green and grassy. If
you don’t recycle and keep littering it will be like living in a
garbage truck. When you litter you not only destroy the
environment, you also kill the creatures living in the
environment. Let’s say went on a picnic trip on the beach and
ISC-AL AIN team
you used plastic cups and plates and when you were done
you threw them on the ground. The next week, you go on a
boat to fish there you might find the plastic cups and plates

top. Fish or other sea creatures can bite the cups and plates

and die. So don’t litter and keep your environment green!
You may not know
that if not recycled,
aluminum cans will sit
in a landfill for 500
years before it
oxidizes.
During a speech, at the end of the competition
Mr. Haley said that, “Today he saw some of the best
hockey he has seen in eight years of ISC
competition!”
You can make an extremely cool organizer out of an old cereal box just by recycling.
Step 1
Cut box with a utility knife at desired angle and height.
Step 2
Wrap decorative or contact paper around box to see
how much you’ll need; unwrap; cut. Secure paper
with double-sided tape; trim excess.
