In Private Session #3, Marion demonstrates a classic Rosen Method
treatment, starting with a description of the female client’s holding,
connecting with muscle tension and the breath through her touch,
exploring what the tension is about with the client, and maintaining active
verbal contact throughout the session.
Private Session #4 is different, because the female client does not speak
throughout the session until the very end, yet Marion gets connected and
provides deep support, somatically and verbally, in the midst of the client’s
silence.
In Private Session #5 Marion shows her capacity to discern when the
male client is “doing” his breath and crying inauthentically. She helps him
begin to sense how it feels when the natural breath is allowed, the breath
without effort. She shows her perception of what is happening in the
session when apparent emotions are not coming from the inside, using her
phrase “that’s not it,” in a manner that is supportive and helps him begin
to open through humor and trust.
