History Coming To Life…
A treat for Canning Vale members as history was brought to life. Mark Antony a.k.a. John
Palmer rehearsed his Eulogy speech for Julius Ceaser. A wonderful costume and
dedication to the speech!
Congratulations to Melissa & Mark Toomey…
Our very much loved members of Canning Vale, Melissa &
Mark Toomey welcomed into the world baby boy, Louis on
the 14 May 2013. Congratulations from all of us and
hopefully one day we will get to meet this little man.

Canning Vale 250th Royal Meeting…
28 members and guests celebrated Canning Vale’s 250th meeting in royal style. With the
District 17, Jewel in the Crown Convention being held a couple of days after the meeting
royalty seemed a befitting way to recognise this auspicious occasion. There were Kings and
Queens, a royal supper and much merrymaking on the night.

Toastmasters International
President, John Lau.
Emma did a superb job as
Contest Chair for the Humorous
Contest.
Phyll helped out on the door and found time
for photos with the SAA / court jester.

Rory Vaden inspired us to be
more disciplined and ‘Take The

Rory Vaden attended our club meeting to
impart some wisdom to members and guests.
Over 80 people came on the night and they
were all having such a wonderful time that
nobody wanted to go home.

degree view of the Swan River and the Perth skyline in all its glory as we celebrate the
triumphs of 2012-2013 and welcome in the 2013-2014 District Officers over a sumptuous
meal.

Goodbye…
This will be my last edition as Vice President of Public Relations and editor of the Canning
Vale newsletter. I have loved communicating all the fun and excitement of Canning Vale
over the last year and I hope you have enjoyed reading about them.
I know the next editor will breathe new life and their own personality into the newsletter and
I look forward to reading the next edition.
