The decision on whether the protest will be upheld will rest with the Commissioner and the Coordinator of Baseball Officials, and if upheld the game will be continued from that point prior to the IIAC Tournament. 1.5. Ten contacts with the coach per student‐athlete shall be allowed within the 16 permissible dates during the five‐week fall non‐traditional season between the first day of classes and October 15. The traditional season shall not begin prior to February 1. 2.2. Minimum standard for competition is defined as participation in the conference schedule. The baseball schedule for the next year shall be presented at the joint meeting of Athletics Directors and Faculty Representatives at the regular spring meeting. 2.3. The conference schedule will be a 28‐game round‐robin, incorporating a four‐game series. There shall be two doubleheaders that consist of, first, a seven‐inning game followed by a nine‐inning game against each conference school. If the first game of the seven‐inning/nine‐inning doubleheader is an extra‐inning game (eight innings or more), that game becomes the nine‐inning game and the second game then will be played as the seven‐inning game. There will be six (6) four‐game series played on Fridays and Saturdays and one (1) four‐game series that shall be contested over two weekday dates (effective 8/2/2012). The midweek games shall be played on Tuesdays of alternate weeks. 2.4. In situations involving forecasted inclement weather, the order of contests played and start times for weekend series may be adjusted to ensure that a maximum number of contests can be completed, provided: appropriate attention is given to academic and financial impact, both institutions’ athletic directors are in agreement, and approval is received from the Conference Commissioner. A maximum of two contests may be held on any one date. 2.5. The host for the Friday/Saturday four‐game series shall alternate on an annual basis. The opponent for the weekday series shall remain the same each season with each school hosting one of the doubleheaders on an annual basis. 2.6. All weekend games will start at 1:00p. All midweek games start times for the seven‐inning doubleheader will be 1:00p or 3:30p (after Daylight Saving Time) depending on whether the host school has a lighted field. The nine‐inning single game would start at 3:00p or 6:00p (after Daylight Saving Time) depending if the host school field is lighted. The 10‐run rule will be enforced after seven innings in the nine‐inning game. 2.7. If a scheduled home site is deemed unplayable due to weather/field conditions and the visitor’s site is playable, the site of a contest or contests may be switched to the visitor’s site, provided: appropriate attention is given to academic and financial impact, both institutions’ athletic directors are in agreement, and approval is received from the Conference Commissioner. 2.7.1.
