Bringing Leonardo da Vinci`s Designs to the Present

Bringing Leonardo da Vinci’s Designs to the Present
Project Aims
•
•
•
Study, analyse and reproduce a selection of da Vinci designs utilising
modern CAD tools
Consider material selection from both a 15th Century and 21st Century
perspective
•
•
Paddle Boat
Compare and contrast da Vinci concepts with equivalent modern products in
an attempt to discover any design methodology used by da Vinci
Using this, propose enhancements to modern design techniques
Develop one da Vinci concept to produce a product for sale in a modern
market
Armoured Car
Da Vinci Sketch
Rendered SolidWorks Model
Da Vinci Sketch
Problems

•
•
•
•
•
•
SolidWorks Wireframe Model
Da Vinci Sketch of a Glider
Study a large selection of da Vinci
concepts to gain an appreciation of his
problem solving methods
Study previous works conducted on his
designs focusing on any models that have
been produced
Utilise personal interpretation wherever
justifiable
Future Work
