The basic liberties and rights that are
guaranteed to citizens. These rights are

“Popular” means people.
“Reign” is the root word of
“Sovereignty” which means rule.
Popular sovereignty
means that the people rule.
All political power come

Republicanism

Elected representatives serve at the
will of the people.
Checks and Balances

Each branch of government can check,
or control, the power of the other two
branches.
Separation of Powers
