April/May/June 2017 Volume 51

April/May/June 2017
From the Board of Trustees:
Can you smell spring in the air?
Before we head outside to enjoy the warming weather
and all that nature has to offer, many of us open up those
windows, empty out the closets, and give the house a good
Spring Cleaning! Too many books? Better World Books
now has a handy Book Donation drop box situated right in
front of PPL.
If you are looking for places to go as you come out of
hibernation, PPL can help you with passes to local museums. Some favorites are the Long Island Children’s Museum, MOMA and the Intrepid. But book early, because
passes are given on a first-come, first-served basis. As you
embark on longer road trips, you may feel disconnected
without wifi. Stop by PPL before you leave, and borrow a
mobile hotspot that you can use to connect your laptop or
tablet to the Internet from wherever you happen to be.
The backbone of our library, of course, is our building,
our books, and our programming. This community deserves a new, state-of-the-art library, and we have been
working very closely with the Village of Lawrence in an
effort to acquire land to build something of which we can
all be proud.
We hope you will take advantage of all the Peninsula
Public Library has to offer, and we hope you will support
our budget on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
