WORK BEGINS ON JEPSON PARKWAY PROJECT; MORE WORK TO COME
Construction has started on the Vacaville portion of the Jepson Parkway Project.
The Jepson Parkway is a 12-mile, I-80 reliever route that will improve intra-county
mobility for Solano County residents. The plan proposes a continuous four-lane
roadway from the State Route 12/Walters Road intersection in Suisun City to the I80/Leisure Town Road interchange in Vacaville. This section will cost approximately
$26.5 million.
The Vacaville section of the project includes the Leisure Town Road section of
Jepson Parkway from Commerce Place to Vanden Road and on Vanden Road from the
Leisure Town Road intersection to the City’s southern limit line.
Teichert Construction is currently verifying the existing location of underground
utilities in order to locate and avoid these utilities during construction activities. The
contractor has set up traffic control at various locations throughout the project.
Beginning Monday, April 3, Teichert plans on:

Placing the traffic signal at the intersection of Vanden and Leisure Town Road on
flashing red, thereby converting the intersection to a three-way stop.

Installing storm drain facilities in the vicinity of the intersection of Leisure Town
Road and Vanden Road. This work will occur under traffic control with flagging.

Installing water line facilities in the vicinity of the intersection of Leisure Town
Road and Vanden Road. This work will occur under traffic control with flagging.

Perform weed removal along the west side of Leisure Town Road from Redstone
Parkway to Vanden Road.

Perform vegetation removal and tree removal along the west side of Leisure
Town Road from Alamo to Arbor Oaks. This work will occur under traffic control
with flagging as needed.
This is the first step of the project, which is expected to continue through December
1, 2017. A public meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 19, 2017 at the Ulatis
Cultural Center, 1000 Allison Drive, in Vacaville to discuss the schedule of work for the
project as well as specific details about road closures, detours and other information.
A page on the City’s website, www.cityofvacaville.com/jepson, will be available soon
with updates and other information.
