for students entering 2nd grade
For the future second grader:
Welcome to Second Grade! Please write your name below to show that you
understand the following:
This summer I am going to read at least one Cynthia Rylant book that I haven’t
read before from the attached list. I understand that I will be asked to complete a
project and take an AR test when I return to school, so I may need to review the
story before the first day. I will bring my book to school on the first day to help
me with my project. The project and AR test will both be part of my Language Arts
grade for the First Trimester.
I am also responsible for finishing the summer math book. This will be part of my
Math grade. I will bring my math book to school the first day corrected by my
parents. I understand that there will be a surprise for students who complete
their math books by the first day of school.
