Reception of films: Tuesday, August 13 – Tuesday, October 22, 2013
1. FICCI Profile
The Cartagena International Film Festival (FICCI) is the oldest cinema event in Latin America, created in 1960.
The Festival profiles new cinematic trends in World Cinema whilst maintaining its central focus on
Ibero-American cinema. FICCI also celebrates and supports the current boom in Colombian cinema, with the
Colombia al 100% section, in which the latest and best Colombian films are launched nationally and
internationally.

3. Requirements
Films participating in this section must meet the following requirements:
Only Latin-American documentaries, animation and fictional short films will be accepted, with a
maximum duration of 22 minutes
Only films that have not been shown previously in Colombia
A 35mm, Blu Ray, DCP or HDCAM copy must be provided
Only films made in 2013 and 2014 will be accepted
4. Language and Subtitling
Non-Spanish-speaking films should be subtitled or accompanied by a list of dialogues in both Spanish and
English. Spanish-speaking films should have English subtitles or be accompanied with a list of dialogues in
English.
5. Selection Process and Programming
FICCI management and our Selection Department will decide which short films are to participate in this
section. To begin the registration process, please fill out our online registration form and submit two DVDs of
your film in NTSC format (preferably with English subtitles) or provide a link with a password in the
corresponding box on the registration form.
The deadline for the reception of entries is Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
No films will be received after this date.
In the event your film is selected, you will receive an official letter of invitation. As soon as you accept the
invitation, you will receive a second letter specifying the materials that must be sent to the festival
headquarters or via e-mail.
6. Delivery
FICCI will cover one-way delivery charges only for films participating in the festival. Please remember to clearly
label your copy “For cultural use only. Zero commercial value”.
7. Jury
The jury will be comprised of acclaimed film experts.
8. Awards
Awards will be announced when the program selection is made public.
The producers and directors of winning films hereby agree to mention their awards in all publicity and press
communications using the exact words of the jury and the FICCI logo, which will be made available for such
purposes.
9. Note
Films competing in any of the festival’s sections may not be shown off the official FICCI circuit or in cities other
than Cartagena without the express written permission of the producers or distributors.
10. Rules and Regulations
By registering your film, you are implicitly agreeing to abide by these rules and regulations.
Deadline for reception of registration forms and films:
Tuesday, October 22, 2013
Films that arrive at the festival offices after this date will not be admitted to the selection process,
regardless of the date on the postmark.
