TLW study the ancient Chinese civilizations with emphasis on the first 4 dynasties; traditions, customs,
beliefs, and significance of Buddhism; the impact of Confucianism and Taoism; and the construction of
the Great Wall, and the influence of Chinese culture; in terms of:
Greece Time Line 2,000 B.C. – 30 B.C.
TLW, in general terms, describe, analyze and evaluate the history of ancient Greece from about 2000 to
30 BC in terms of its impact of Western Civilization, with emphasis on:
Rome
Time Line 700 B.C. – 500A.D.
TLW describe, analyze and evaluate the history of ancient Rome from about 700 BC to 500 AD,
in terms of its impact on Western civilization, with emphasis on:
Ancient Civilization Project -- Group Work—
In your group project students will need to work together to gain a
comprehensive understanding of their selected ancient civilization. To begin
students will work on creating documents for these six points and “Traveling” to
other countries to investigate their culture! Thereby, researching fully ONE
ancient civilization and compiling information about ALL. Research will be done in
class. Creation may be done in class or at home.
Group Student Requirements Are:
1. Development of:

Religious traditions and influence on government, culture,
technological development and citizens
Social patterns
Political patterns
Economic patterns
2. Explain the importance and levels of social classes.
3. Find evolution examples in your society of:
Writing
Art
Architecture
Mathematics
Science
4. Discuss how empires used conquest and forced labor to expand
and develop.
5. Compare Ancient Civilization to modern civilization in region
