The Government of Malawi through Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development (MoAIWD) received a Grant from the Global Agriculture Food Security Programme (GAFSP) to finance the implementation of the Smallholder Irrigation and Value addition Project (SIVAP). The grant is being managed by the African Development Bank as supervising Entity for GAFSP. The goal of the project is to contribute to food security, increase income levels and poverty reduction in the country. The specific objective is to increasing agricultural production and productivity through intensification of irrigation, crop diversification, and value addition and capacity building. 3.
