SPORTS PERFORMANCE 25 The Sports Performance 25 (Broncs Rodeo Academy) course(s) challenge students to develop their physical and cognitive skills while promoting lifelong participation in sport. The Sports Performance Rodeo Academy Program is available to Ponoka Composite High School students from grades 9 through 12. In this course, students will investigate topics in physical training, sports nutrition, and sports psychology as they relate to rodeo and sport performance. In-class instruction will be supported through arena and dry-land training and development. Arena sessions will run 2-4 times per week, in the afternoon and early evening, starting in September. To gain credits for Sports Performance 25, students will need to create a presentation that demonstrates their knowledge and comprehension of the Sports Performance 25 course outcomes. This Presentation may include different components, including but not limited to, Power Point, demonstration, posters, pamphlets, song, video, and home movie. Use your imagination. Make it interesting, and have fun with it. Students will be presenting their final projects in class. Where it says to plan or demonstrate, you must create a program or demonstrate what is asked. They will be marked on CONTENT, which is to say that each and every outcome is covered and that understanding of the outcome is demonstrated. Under each general outcome are a variety of outcomes that are bulleted, each of these MUST be discussed in the presentation. Assessment: Final Exam 40% Work 40 % Participation 20% General Outcome 1: Students will demonstrate proper training techniques associated with a variety of sports.
