published in the 2016 – 2017 Parent Handbook on pages 13 -16. Thank you!
Here are a few friendly reminders:

• NO flip-flops, backless, toeless or high heeled shoes. Tie or Velcro shoes only. (This is
for safety sake.)

approved uniform dress code of SPLS.
This year the SPLS Staff will be praying specifically for our students and their
families. Each week we will draw the names of four students from a prayer box and pray for
them over the course of the next week. This week we will be praying for the following
students: Kayal (Jr. K); Marcos (K); Xavier (1st); and Sophiya (3rd).
Bookaneer…the Scholastic Book Fair will be on
campus September 26th - 30th. ARRG…are you ready
mates??? Let’s have some fun and adventure at the
annual book fair. J
At SPLS we are blessed to have a wonderful
Art teacher…Mrs. Nunes. The 1st – 8th grade
students will experience wonderful and
exciting adventures in Art over the course of
this school year. Please be sure to send in
your $25 donation payable to Kathryn Nunes
to help defray the costs of special materials
that she will purchase for the students.
Thank you!
Thank you for your understanding and
cooperation over the course of the last
couple of days while our parking lot got
repaired! We appreciate everyone who
helped to ensure that all students were
safe during this time! God bless you! J
Don’t Miss Out on the Special “Free Dress” Offer: If you LOVE Free Dress Days, then
please think about the special offer made by the Middle School students and Mrs. Packard
for the opportunity to have Free Dress EVERY Friday for the rest of 2016!!! By purchasing these
free dress days, you are helping the Middle School class earn their trip to Washington D.C. If
you didn’t get your order form turned in there are extra forms located in the office and in
each classroom. J
Mrs. Bru our Kindergarten teacher is looking for a few volunteers to
assist her with weekly learning centers in her classroom. Helpers are
needed on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 to help
run learning centers. Please contact Mrs. Bru if you are interested in
serving at SPLS in this capacity. Thank you! J

Just email Mrs. Packard at: [email protected] to let her know if you’re interested

From the Principal: How safe is your child? Health and safety factors are of major
importance to all parents and teachers. All of us want the assurance that our children are protected
and in a safe environment. Here are some of the steps we take at St. Philip to insure your child’s
safety:
• Monthly fire drills are conducted as well as regular earthquake drills
• Fire extinguishers are inspected regularly
• First aid kits and emergency backpacks are in each classroom
• Fully equipped earthquake kits for the entire facility are in place and include medical supplies,
food, water, blankets, port-a-potties, etc.
• Emergency procedures including a “lock-down” procedure in place for students and
teachers. These drills are scheduled and conducted on a regular basis.
• Entire staff is CPR and First Aid certified
• Medication regulations in place that are aligned with state regulations
• Recess supervision by staff at all times
• Gates that allow our campus to be a “locked” campus during operating hours
Please include SPLS in your daily prayers asking for God’s presence in all the activities that take place
in the course of a day. Knowing that God holds all of us in the palm of His hand give us assurance
and peace of mind.
No Dogs on Campus: Reminder…there are NO dogs allowed on campus! Many
children are allergic to and/or afraid of dogs. Please be considerate of others and refrain from
bringing dogs on campus. We appreciate your assistance with this matter.
