Really Big Pumpkins
This time of year there are giant pumpkin contests and this year a new Giant Pumpkin record was set.
At the Topsfield Fair in Massachusetts, Ron Wallace’s 2009 pound pumpkin set the new World record
and broke the one ton mark for any pumpkin and also any vegetable.

Leslie’s Sour Cream Pumpkin Pie recipe
1 ¾ cups pumpkin puree
1 cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ginger
3 eggs separated
1 cp sour cream
¼ tsp nutmeg
1 9-inch ¾ baked piecrust
whipping cream
Combine ½ cup sugar, salt, spices, pumpkin, sour cream, and egg yolks. Beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold in remaining ½ cup sugar and fold into pumpkin mixture. Turn into pie shell and bake for 45 to
55 minute … until the top is browned. Serve chilled with whipped cream.
