The Awana Club held at Jackson Christian Elementary School is a ministry of Cascades Baptist Church 1012 W High Street Jackson, MI 49203 Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed II Timothy 2:15 2016-2017 AWANA is a program for children and consists of three groups. Cubbies: 3 & 4 yr olds Sparks: grades K, 1, 2 T&T: grades 3, 4, 5, 6 Awana meets at Jackson Christian Elementary School, 801 Halstead. The club is held every Wednesday, 6:30 – 8:00 pm throughout the school year. 4. Handbooks alone are $9.00. 5. Parents are encouraged to help their children at home so that they can be ready to recite their verses to their Leaders during Handbook Time. Some things to know about the club: 1. Club starts at 6:30 p.m. and concludes at 8:00 p.m. 2. Weekly dues are cents per clubber. 50 3. Uniforms / Books – Once the Clubbers have passed their Entrance Tests, they are eligible to purchase a uniform vest or t-shirt AND a handbook. a. Cubbies book & vest is $15.00 b. Sparks book & vest is $17.00 c. T&T book & poloshirt is $20.00 6. Special functions will be scheduled throughout the year, and Parents are encouraged to come and participate in these activities. WHAT DOES AN EVENING LOOK LIKE? When the Cubbies come to club, they begin their evening in their Cubbies room. There they have their Bible story time and their Handbook time where they learn Bible verses and complete sections in their handbook. They go to the gym for their Game time. The Sparks and T&T begin in the gym for the opening for the evening with pledges to the American flag and to the AWANA flag. Recognition of birthdays and visitors as well as any announcements are done at this time as well. Then each of these two clubs dismiss to their class areas where they have their own Handbook time (reciting verses and working on their books), Council time where they hear a devotional, hear from a missionary, or learn about Bible stories and the application for their lives, and Game time which takes place in the gym.
