What are we learning
about?
This term all of our learning is linked
to the Tudors. Read on to find out
what exciting things we will be doing
in school . . .
Literacy/ICT/Design Technology
In literacy, we are reading the book the Thief, the Fool
and the Big Fat King, and using this to write part of our
own historical story. We will be using PowerPoint to
publish our stories in our own digital books.
In Design Technology, we a going to be designing and
making our own jam tarts based on Tudor coats of
arms.
History/Art
In History we will be asking questions and learning
about what life was like for rich and poor people in
Tudor times. We will also be learning about King
Henry 8th and his 6 wives. During art lessons we will be
creating Tudor portraits, using King Henry and his
wives as the subject.
Science/Maths
In Science we are learning about teeth and eating.
Linking this to our history lessons, we will look at how
our diet affects our teeth and the ways we can keep our
teeth healthy. In maths we are focusing on our written
calculations, as well as the names and properties of 2D
and 3D shapes.
