Teacher will give a pretest over literary devices, Hyperbole, metaphor alliteration, onomatopoeia
and simile. Students will grade their own quiz. Teacher will read the Giver.

Teacher will give examples of each device on the smart board, students will do a short
worksheet over metaphors and similes. Teacher will read The Giver.
