At six million square miles, Alaska's very size is humbling. An endless procession of tidewater glaciers advance and retreat as far as the eye can see. Forest upon forest of white spruce and aspen stretch to the horizon, with no fences, no billboards and little civilization to punctuate the scene. Here guests can hear whales
blow, watch eagles soar, walk on glaciers and go dog sledding - all in one day!
A luxury voyage with Silversea includes:
All Oceanview Suites. Cruise fares and all shipboard gratuities; complimentary transportation into town in
most ports. Complimentary select wines and spirits, open seating dining; complimentary 24-hour room service; in-suite bar setup in Butler suites; and refrigerator replenished daily with soft drinks, beer and bottled
water. Relais and Chateaux cuisine.

June 12th & 21st:
Vancouver, British Columbia: Vancouver is the third largest city in Canada. This young city became part of
the Canadian Confederation in 1871. Its history remains visible to the naked eye; along the waterfront visitors
can see everything from cobblestone late-Victorian Gastown to shiny postmodern glass cathedrals.
June 14th:
Ketchikan, Alaska: The Tlingit Indians originally settled this area as a summer fishing camp, where five different species of salmon spawned every year. The natives called it “Kitchsk-hin,” which means Kitchsk’s
stream. This word sounds like another Tlingit phrase, which translates into “Thundering Wings of an Eagle,”
and is sometimes given as the origin of the word Ketchikan. However, most locals agree that Kitchsk’s stream
is the more accurate translation.
June 15th:
Juneau, Alaska: Juneau is one of only two state capitals in the country that is not accessible by road. Considered by many to be the most beautiful capital in the nation, Juneau is the second largest city, in area, in the
United States. The city’s terrain is hilly and its winding, narrow streets are full of character. However, Juneau’s
small-town charm is mixed with cosmopolitan flair; here you will find interesting museums, sophisticated shops
and fine restaurants.
Juneau is the destination with the most diversity of Alaska sightseeing, active adventure and romance. This
quaint, yet sophisticated town is rich in native culture and gold mining history. It nestled in the rain forest
where the mountains meet the sea amid 17 million acres of Tongass National Forest and a 1,000-square-mile
ice field. Today, Juneau is famous for its spectacular scenery of mountains, glaciers, fjords, lakes and wildlife
that is unrivaled.
June 16th:
Skagway, Alaska: North to Alaska was the song sang by those rushing to the goldmines of the Klondike.
Usually they meant Skagway. The White Pass and Chilkoot Trails were the gateways to the Yukon Territory.
The gold rush was a boom and by 1898 Skagway was Alaska’s largest town with a population of approximately
20,000. Hotels, saloons, dance halls and gambling prospered, attracting Skagway residents as well as the
10,000 people living in the nearby tent city of Dyea. But, as the gold dwindled in 1900, so did the population
as miners quickly moved to Nome.
Today with a population of less than 1,000, the town retains the flavor of the gold-rush era in its downtown, a
historic district.
June 18th:
Wrangell, Alaska: Wrangell, a hidden jewel in the heart of the Tongass National Forest, is the third oldest
community in Alaska and the only community to be ruled by four nations: the indigenous Tlingit nation, Russia, Great Britain and the United States. The island is rich in native heritage as evidenced by the rock carvings
at Petroglyph Beach as well as the totems seen around town. Visitors can walk in the steps of John Muir
amidst historic buildings and enjoy the beauty of the Stikine River and the surrounding wilderness.
Today, the town is still considered colorful by southeast residents, but for different reasons. Wrangell is a
proud, traditional and sometimes stubborn community, clinging to old Alaskan ideas of independence from excess government and freedom to use the land and natural resources to earn a living.
June 20th:
Victoria, British Columbia This intimate, sophisticated seaside city is the vacation capital of Canada and the
premier tourist spot in the Pacific Northwest. Victoria is situated on the southern tip of Vancouver Island and
sparkles in one of Canada’s mildest climates. This area is the sunniest spot in the province and the gentlest in
the country in terms of environment and lifestyle.
Victoria’s unique character is deeply rooted in its 150-year history. The city’s British Colonial heritage is still
very much in evidence, but contemporary Victoria has a distinctly Pacific Northwest flavor.
Today, Victoria is best known as the capital city of British Columbia, a world-renowned tourism destination.

SILVERSEA CRUISES CONTINUES TO GARNER
TOP AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
Silver Whisper's Suites are the Best in the World
(Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- January 26, 2006) -- Silversea Cruises keeps strengthening its reputation for
winning top awards and recognition from leading travel publications. According to Condé Nast Traveler, the line's 382-guest, all-suite Silver Whisper offers the very best accommodations at sea -- of
any ship, large, medium or small -- and the line's entire fleet of four ultra-luxury ships is listed among
the world's top ten small ships. These achievements are revealed in the magazine's sixth annual
readers' survey of "The Best Cruise Ships in the World," appearing in the February 2006 issue.
In addition, Seatrade Cruise Review, a leading maritime trade publication, recently showcased the
spacious bathrooms of Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper (which feature a free-standing glass shower
stall as well as a full-size bathtub) in its December 2005 cover story "10 of the Best Bathrooms at
Sea."
"The fact that our ships continue to receive accolades and praise from our guests and the media is
testament to our solid commitment to excellence," said David Morris, Silversea's senior vice president
of sales for North America. "This is the second consecutive year that Silver Whisper's suites have
been voted the best in the world. While it's always gratifying to receive this type of recognition, you
can be sure we're not about to rest on our laurels, but will keep looking for new ways to enhance our
award-winning experience."
WORLD'S BEST SUITES BY DESIGN
The key to designing for the ultra-luxury market is space. When the deck plans for Silversea's fleet
were under development, the company understood the need to design ships that accommodated far
fewer guests than most ships of the same size. The space ratios of the four ships in the fleet are
about twice as high as most cruise ships and considerably more than most ships claiming to appeal to
the ultra-luxury market. Space ratio is derived from taking the size of the ship (the gross registered
tonnage) and dividing by the number of guests it accommodates. For example, the line's Silver
Shadow and Silver Whisper are the most spacious ships in the world with a space ratio of 74.0;
that equates to 7,400 cubic feet of space per guest.
ALL-INCLUSIVE SUITE AMENITIES
Silversea's spacious, light-filled Veranda and Vista Suites comfortably accommodate guests in an elegant atmosphere of muted tones and rich, honey-spiced maple cabinetry. There's a separate sitting
area that includes two chairs and table for in-suite dining, plus a sofa. A refrigerator (stocked with
complimentary beverages, wines and spirits, restocked daily upon request), a writing desk and television with a DVD player (plus VCR aboard Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper) complete the living area.
A luxurious queen-size bed features fluffy goose down duvets, sheets made of 100% fine Egyptian
cotton (thread count 320) and a choice of pillows. The line's standard pillow is a soft goose down and
feather blend. However, guests may opt for a firmer goose down and feather pillow, or a synthetic
one that's hypoallergenic, or even a contour pillow of therapeutic foam.
Additional suite amenities include fragrant Acqua di Parma bath products (shampoo, conditioner,
shower and bath gel, body lotion and soap), a large walk-in closet and full-length mirror, plush terry
cotton robes and slippers, in-suite personal safe, dressing table and hair dryer, a welcoming chilled
bottle of award-winning Pommery Brut Royal Champagne, 24-hour room service (with dinners
served course by course) -- and all gratuities included. Complimentary butler service is also provided
in the Royal, Grand, Rossellini and Owner's Suites.
Silversea Cruises is recognized as an innovator in the luxury segment, offering guests large-ship
amenities aboard four intimate vessels, Silver Cloud, Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, and Silver Whisper,
all designed to offer an atmosphere of conviviality and casual elegance. For the ninth year, Silversea was named "Number One" small-ship line in the 2005 "Readers' Choice" survey conducted by Condé Nast Traveler magazine. For the sixth time, Silversea was selected
"World's Best" small-ship line in the 2004 Travel + Leisure readers' poll.
