the travel and tourism industry in the Asia Pacific

– A sustainability-focused resort and spa management
and development company, committed to
environmentally friendly and socially responsible
business practices, which are implemented through
the group’s Holistic Environmental Management
Programme and the Social and Environmental
Responsibility Fund.

• Energy saving activities include:
– Installation of an energy monitoring system with “peak
demand” control.
– Changing timer and light schedules to reduce peak demands
– Pumping water up to the highest point to allow use of gravity in
distribution, thus reducing water pumps and energy
consumption
– Use of energy-efficient Megaman PAR 38 light bulbs (20W)

– Double-glazed windows to improve thermal efficiency
– Hot water heated by the solar thermal plant
– Relocating the fitness centre to the Sundeck Wing, where
cooling is supplied by a centralised 20-ton air conditioning
unit as well as natural cooling
– Power diesel generator on low RPM

Jetwing Youth Development Project
• Created to develop the local youth, and strengthen
relationships in the area
• Embarked on a 6 month training programme to teach English
as well as hotelcraft for main areas of operation
• Total of 120 youngsters benefited from the programme, and
50% have been absorbed into the staff cadre
Jetwing Eternal Earth Project
• Implemented to minimise global warming and its effects for
the benefit of mankind
• 100 acres of land belonging to Jetwing Hunas Falls allocated;
approximately 40 acres planted with over 3000 trees using
analog forestry
• Each hotel has two foster schools, to educate on global
warming, bio-diversity, home/school gardening and good
earth saving practices
