The parade meetings for our 44th Annual St. Joseph's Parade will be held at the VFW Hall
located at 1133 Hickory Avenue in Harahan. We will begin distributing merchandise at 7:00p.m., and
our meetings will start at 8:00p.m. sharp. These meetings are for members only. Wives and girlfriends
should not attend these meetings. You can pay by cash, check, or credit card at our distribution
meetings. If you plan to pay by check, then you will need separate checks for membership dues, throws,
and dance tickets.
2014 GRAND MARSHAL
LENA PRIMA
To some performers, having a legendary father
might be daunting. Not so for Lena Prima, Louis
Prima's youngest daughter. Lena is an award
winning singer/songwriter/artist who has earned her
own stellar reputation around the country for her
energetic and charismatic performances. The Italian
Tribune says, "Lena Prima has a strong voice and a
striking presence reminiscent of her father.... a
musical experience worth remembering!" After years
of performing in Las Vegas, Lena moved back to her
childhood home of New Orleans in December 2011 .
She performs live shows regularly and has recently
released her fourth album "Starting Something" in
January 2014. Lena is fiercely proud of her Italian
heritage. We are honored to have Lena join us as
our 2014 National Grand Marshal!
2014 NATIONAL GRAND MARSHAL
We will also have three Honorary Parade Marshals this year. Past Grand Marshals David Greco
and Lou Cordileone will ride with us again as Honorary Parade Marshals. Please introduce yourself to
David and Lou. They are great guys!
ARMANDO ANTHONY ASARO, JR.
2014 IAMC CAESAR
HOLLY ANNE SAVOIE
2014 IAMC QUEEN
We are honored to have Armando Anthony Asaro,
Jr. reign as our 2014 Caesar. Armando is a native
New Orleanian. He is the grandson of Sicilian
immigrants who came to America through Ellis
Island, New York. Armando is a New Orleans Police
Detective assigned to the New Orleans District
Attorney's Office. He and his wife, Lisa, have two
daughters. Armando has been a member of the
Italian American Marching Club for the past 20
years, and in 2013, he was elected to the Board.
As a Board member, Armando has created the
"Blue Legion" for all active and retired Italian law
enforcement. This is the 4th year Armando has
reigned as our Caesar. Hail to Caesar!
The Italian American Marching Club is proud to
present Holly Anne Savoie as the Queen of its 44th
Annual St. Joseph Parade. Holly is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Savoie of Covington, LA. She is
the granddaughter of former President and Board
member Joseph J. Cannizzaro and his wife, June.
Holly is currently a senior at St. Scholastica
Academy. Upon graduation, Holly plans to attend
Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond
where she will pursue an undergraduate and
master's degree in counseling. Holly has been
representing the Italian American Marching Club as
a Maid for the past 12 years and has served on
the Maid Court for the past two years. She is very
proud of her Italian heritage and is excited to be
representing the Italian American Marching Club as
its 2014 Queen. Hail to the Queen!
LET'S HAVE A SAFE CELEBRATION!!!
We want you to focus on celebrating St. Joseph's Day with your family and your paisanos. We
are taking every action possible to ensure your safety and the safety of the parade spectators. As usual,
our organization will meet with the New Orleans Police Department to ensure that the necessary officers
are present in our parade and along our parade route. We will strictly enforce all safety precautions in
order to ensure that all of our Maids, members, parade participants, and spectators enjoy a fun and safe
parade. Everyone's safety and welfare is of the utmost importance to our organization.
All members must start and finish the parade with their respective legions and chariots.
Members are to remain with their designated parade group. Members are never to march with the
floats and/or Maids. Members are never to march behind the Fire Truck at the end of the parade.
Any and all members who become intoxicated or cause any type of disturbance during the parade will be
removed from the parade. All of our members are asked to keep an eye out for their fellow marchers. If
you need any assistance, the organization's officers and/or the police are prepared to help.
Finally, all of the drivers in our parade are prohibited from consuming any type of alcoholic
beverage prior to and during the parade. Any driver found drinking prior to or during the parade
will be immediately removed from his/her vehicle- no exceptions.

SUNDAY, MARCH 9, 2014 MAID MEDIA PRESENTATION
AND FATHER-DAUGHTER LUNCHEON
The annual Maid Media Presentation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 - the Sunday
prior to our St. Joseph's Parade - from 11 :00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Piazza D'ltalia in New
Orleans. This is your opportunity to see our beautiful Maids prior to the parade.
Later on the afternoon of Sunday, March 9, 2014, the Maids will be our guests at our annual
Daughter-Father/Grandfather Luncheon at 3:00 pm at Andrea's Restaurant in Metairie, LA. This
luncheon is free of charge to all of our Maids. There is a nominal charge of $30.00 for the fathers and/or
grandfathers. Please forward payment for the Daughter-Father/Grandfather Luncheon no later than
March 3, 2014 to: IAMC c/o Morris J. Vaccarella, Jr. 1512 Rue Charters, Slidell, LA 70458. You can also
pay Morris directly at the March 6, 2014 parade meeting. If you have any questions regarding the

FRIDAY, MARCH 14, 2014 PASTA PARTY
On Friday, March 14, 2014, we will hold our annual St. Joseph's Pasta Party at 12:00 noon
outside of Crazy Lobster Restaurant located in the Spanish Plaza near the Hilton Riverside Hotel.
During this event, our Grand Marshal, our Honorary Parade Marshals, our Queen, and our Caesar will
be presented to the public. Our Honorary Parade Marshal David Greco from the famous Mike's Deli in
the Arthur Avenue retail market in the Bronx, New York's "Real Little Italy" will then treat us to the world's
largest bowl of pasta con le sarde. There will also be plenty of music and wine. Join us for this special
free event. It's a great way to start our weekend celebration!
SATURDAY. MARCH 15, 2014 PRE-PARADE PARTY
Our 2014 Pre-Parade Party will once again be held on Convention Center Blvd. across from the
Hilton Hotel Riverside. The Pre-Parade Party will be open to members and their ladies at 3:00 p.m. This
year's party will feature fantastic food and beverages from our favorite area restaurants, stores, and
suppliers - Chef Marc Gilberti's Italian sausage with onions and peppers, Rotolo's Pizzeria,
Domenica Restaurant, Rouse's Food Stores, Italian meatballs, pasta salad, New Orleans Original
Daiquiris, Cavit Wines, Verdi Sparkling Wines, beer, and Coca-Cola soft drinks. All ladies must
have a ticket. Tickets can be obtained at the parade meetings. Members are encouraged to come
early in order to pick up their secret badges and flower canes. Extra throws and beads can also
be purchased at the party. However, we can accept only cash payments on parade day.
SATURDAY. MARCH 15, 2014 POST-PARADE GALA
Last year, we revised the format of our St. Joseph's Gala and Maid Presentation. It worked so
well that we are going to stick with it! The Maid Presentation will take place from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The band will then take the stage from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Regarding the band, we are proud to
announce that the band for our 2014 St. Joseph's Gala will be KARMA! Bring your dancing shoes!
Tickets to our St. Joseph's Gala and Maid Presentation purchased prior to March 8, 2014 are just
$45.00 per person, and tables of ten (1 0) are $450.00. Tickets purchased on March 15, 2014 are $50.00
per person. For information concerning the St. Joseph's Gala and Maid Presentation, please contact
George Cortello at 891-8573 or 831-2458. Please see Joe Cannizzaro at our upcoming parade
meetings to review available tables and to purchase tickets in order to obtain the best seating available.
RESERVATIONS AT THE HILTON
We have obtained special discount prices from the Hilton Hotel Riverside for the weekend of our
celebration. However, only a limited number of rooms have been allotted. Make your reservations now
by calling the Hilton Hotel Reservation Desk at (504) 561-0500.
PARADE ROUTE FOR THE FLOATS AND MAIDS FOR 2014!
Due to the need for our Maids to arrive at the Hilton Hotel in time to prepare to be introduced at
our St Joseph's Gala, we will employ slightly different parade routes for our floats and for our marchers.
Below is the 2014 IAMC parade route for the floats and Maids. The floats and Maids will actually
encompass the first part of our parade. They will start the parade at Canal Street and Charters at 6:00
p.m. The marchers will then follow. The only difference between the route for the floats and Maids and
the route for the marchers is that when the floats and Maids turn onto St. Ann, they will proceed to
Decatur Street and back to the Hilton Hotel instead of turning onto Royal Street like the marchers.

We understand that our marchers prefer to stay in the busier parts of the French Quarter longer.
The 2014 parade route for the marchers will begin on Canal Street and Charters after the floats and
Maids pass. The route that we have implemented for the marchers is as follows:

ANNUAL DUES
All those 15 years of age and older must have their Membership Dues paid in full in order to
participate in our St. Joseph's Parade. So, if you are over 15 years of age, your 2013-2014 ANNUAL
MEMBERSHIP DUES ARE NOW DUE! As you all are well aware, we make sure that our dues remain
affordable to all who wish to share in our celebration of St. Joseph. Our membership dues schedule is:
$105.00 if paid from January 1, 2014 through the day before Parade Day; and
$125.00 if paid on Parade Day.
Our dues still remain one of the lowest of any parade organizations. Please remit your check or
money order made payable to "Italian American Marching Club" today. If you know former members,
invite them back. If you know potential new members, invite them to join. We have enclosed an
Application for Membership for your convenience. Please feel free to make copies of this application.
OUR JUNIOR MEMBER LEGION
This past year our Junior Member Legion had a great time riding on their own vehicle with their
chaperones. Enclosed with this newsletter is a Junior Member Legion Application. To be eligible for the
Junior Member Legion, the Junior Member must:

Be a boy 6-12 years old.
Have a father, grandfather, family member, or guardian who is a member of the IAMC.
Submit a completed and executed Junior Member Legion Application with the $50.00 Junior Member
Legion dues at least one (1) week prior to the parade.
Purchase a Junior Member pre-packaged bead box and other throws only through the IAMC.
Wear a black tuxedo, black socks, and black shoes for the parade.
Arrive at the Pre-Parade Party in time to be placed on the designated vehicle.
Ride on the designated vehicle during the parade.
Behave and follow the directions of the chaperones during the parade.
Not leave the designated vehicle during the parade, except with a chaperone.
Have someone waiting in front of the Hilton Hotel by 8:45 pm to pick up the Junior Member from the
designated vehicle when it arrives.
Provide the IAMC with current contact information for the Junior Member's parents/guardians.
If you have a Junior Member, sign him up! If you have any questions regarding the Junior
Member Legion or if you would like to volunteer as a chaperone for the Junior Member Legion, please

IAMC'S ROLLING CAN NOLl IS BACK AND SWEETER THAN EVER!
This past year marked the inaugural run of the IAMC Rolling Can noli. By all accounts, the IAMC
Rolling Cannoli was a tremendous success. This very special vehicle allows our members to ride in our
parade at street level to better engage with the spectators who share in our celebration of St. Joseph.
There is also plenty of space for throws. The cost to ride on the IAMC Rolling Cannoli is only $150.00 per
member. Membership dues must be paid separately. Unfortunately, there are only 16 spots on the
IAMC Rolling Cannoli, and these spots go fast! To make arrangements to ride on the IAMC Rolling
Cannoli, please contact Judge Charles A. lmbornone at (504) 218-7569.
GODFATHER LEGION
Members interested in riding in the parade in a convertible as a "Godfather", please contact
Board member Peter Gilberti, at (504) 458-2791. You can also see Peter at the upcoming parade
meetings. You must provide your own driver and convertible. You must also present your insurance
policy on said vehicle with minimum coverage of $100,000.00. The cost to enter the convertible in the
parade is $400.00. Each convertible can hold up to three "Godfathers" plus the driver. No
convertible will be allowed in the parade without a special sticker applied to the windshield. Any
convertible in the parade without the sticker will be removed and detained until after the parade.
FIRE TRUCK LEGION
Board Member Dr. Joseph Cusimano will once again be organizing and overseeing the Fire
Truck Legion in this year's parade. HOWEVER, ALL MEMBERS PARTICIPATING IN THE FIRE
TRUCK LEGION MUST HAVE THEIR IAMC DUES PAID BY THE LAST MEETING - MARCH 12,
2014. NO MEMBERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO APPLY FOR THE FIRE TRUCK LEGION ON THE
DAY OF THE PARADE. Dr. Cusimano will collect the Fire Truck Legion dues at our meetings. He will
NOT be accepting ANY applications to the Fire Truck Legion after March 12, 2014!
IAMC PARADE THROWS, BEADS, AND FLOWER CANES
THE ONLY BEADS ALLOWED IN OUR PARADE ARE OUR IAMC TRI-COLOR AND SPECIAL
BEADS. NO OTHER BEADS ARE ALLOWED. OUR INCOME IS BASED ON THE NOMINAL
MEMBERSHIP DUES AND THE INCOME DERIVED FROM THE SALE OF OUR OFFICIAL THROWS
AND FLOWER CANES. THUS, OUR ORGANIZATION SURVIVES ON OUR MEMBERS
PURCHASING OFFICIAL IAMC THROWS.
WITHOUT OUR MEMBER'S GENEROUS
COOPERATION IN PURCHASING OFFICIAL THROWS (AND LOTS OF THEM), WE WILL NOT BE
ABLE TO REMAIN IN EXISTENCE. WE URGE ALL OF OUR MEMBERS TO PURCHASE ONLY
AUTHORIZED THROWS AND FLOWER CANES FROM OUR CLUB.

I, on behalf of me, the herein referenced Junior Member, and our respective heirs, successors, administrators, executors, assigns, and
representatives, hereby agree to hold harmless, defend, and indemnify, including the payment of reasonable attorney's fees, the
IAMC, its officers, directors, and/or agents, from any and all claims, actions, and/or suits against the IAMC, its members, officers,
directors, and/or agents, by any party, including me and the Junior Member, in any way related to and/or involving the Junior Member
that arise during the IAMC St. Joseph Parade and/or any IAMC events.
