Preparation
Schedule time for your homework
or studying. Then find a quiet,
secluded place with:

A proven method for successful studying.
• no distractions;

Read the chapter headings,
introductions, summaries and
author’s notes to get the main idea.

• a firm chair and table or desk.

1. Be prepared. Know your
material. Get enough sleep.
2. Bring the necessary
equipment, such as pens,
pencils, rulers, erasers, etc.
3. Listen to the instructions.
Read the directions carefully.

Ask yourself questions that you
hope to answer when you read.
5. Answer the questions you
know first.

questions. Guess (if you don’t
lose marks); you might know
